The Thyrsian special forces was the special forces division of the Thyrsian military, a subspecies of the Echani who waged wars of independence against Echani Command from the planet Thyrsus during the Begali Uprising in the year 1154 BBY. By the time that Thyrsian independence was recognized by the Pact of Almera in 899 BBY, the division had evolved into the seminomadic Sun Guard warriors.
