- "Brand-new species, not in any of our files. He's been pretty blustery, but we've managed to pry the location of his home system out of him, and we're putting together a task force to head over there and make contact."
- ―Jorm Whistler Mackenni
A sentient species, with a body shape that could be confused with that of an Eickarie or a Lakra's, originated in a star system in Wild Space. The Empire of the Hand[1] confederation, which had not encountered the species,[2] determined that the individual who ruled the planet Kariek for fifty years known as the Warlord was a member of the species instead of an Eickarie or Lakra after the Imperial stormtrooper Unit Aurek-Seven captured him on the Kariek, the Eickarie homeworld,[1] by 22 ABY.[3] The Hand also learnt of the species' point of origin from him and subsequently prepared to send a task force to contact the species. Shortly after, Aurek-Seven Jorm Whistler Mackenni informed the Eickarie Su-mil of their discovery and plans to establish contact with the Warlord's kind, and theorized that the Eckarie ruling body of the InterTribal Council would like to have Imperial Star Destroyers over Kariek in case that the Warlord's species attempted to attack the planet.[1]
Behind the scenes
The species appeared in the 2004 novella Fool's Bargain.[1]
