The Pit" is a short narrative published in the
Galaxy Guide 5: Return of the Jedi. It was also included in
The Movie Trilogy Sourcebook.
Plot summary
Fixer, tired of being always bested by Luke Skywalker and Biggs Darklighter, invented a new sport, sandsurfing. However, his friends were better in this sport than the inventor. Fixer come up with the idea of sandsurfing above the Great Pit of Carkoon, but his misfortunate jump ended up him unconscious in the grab of the Sarlacc. Darklighter and Skywalker saved the life of Fixer, but admitted him the king of the sandsurfers.
