The Eye of the Empire was an opera celebrating the supposed superiority of the Human species. The propaganda piece was commissioned during the Imperial Period by a Moff of the Galactic Empire who died long before[1] 44 ABY.[2]

By that year,[2] memories of the opera had faded, and few individuals admitted that they had listened to it given its theme of Humanocentrism that claimed non-Human species would be happiest under Human subjugation. However, its arias were regarded as some of the finest ever composed by Admiral Sallinor Parova of the Galactic Alliance, who sympathized with its theme of speciesism and felt that the decreased appreciation for The Eye of the Empire was a shame. When preparing to sleep, she hummed along to a recording of her favorite aria from the piece in her apartment on the planet Coruscant until she muted the music to receive a sudden call from Rynog Asokaji, the aide-de-camp to Parova's superior, Admiral Nek Bwua'tu.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Eye of the Empire was introduced in the eighth volume of the Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi novel series, Christie Golden's Ascension, published in 2011.[1]
