The Empire Wants You! was one of a series of recruitment videos issued by the Galactic Empire during the early stages of the Galactic Civil War encouraging that various people in the galaxy join the Imperial Army. It also unveiled four individuals wanted for treason.
The video mentioned that the Empire wanted the viewer to join, and promised that there would be "great benefits" to joining immediately. During the ad, several rows of stormtroopers, alongside red flags bearing the symbol of the Galactic Empire swaying behind them, were facing the screen. It then showed four individuals wanted by the Galactic Empire for treason, including Han Solo, Gume Saam, Luke Skywalker, and Jabba Desilijic Tiure.
The video included writing in Aurebesh, the High Galactic alphabet, and a third writing system.
Behind the scenes
The Empire Wants You! and Be a Stormtrooper! were videos shown in the queue area of the Tokyo Disneyland version of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. The inclusion of Luke Skywalker in the list of wanted criminals seems to conflict with the attraction's setting of 1 BBY.
