The Call of the Force

The Call of the Force was a famous book, being considered a classic of galactic literature. It told the story of Buck, a tauntaun who was saved by a Jedi from abusive caretakers on Hoth.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The novel is a reference to the short novel The Call of the Wild by Jack London. The novel's protagonist, Buck, is a powerful dog who is sent to the Klondike, where he is trained as a sled dog. Buck goes through a series of abusive owners until settling down with a kind owner. Throughout the story, Buck becomes increasingly feral (referred to in story as "the call of the wild") and, after his last owners death, returns to nature with a wolf pack.
