"SPECIAL DATA: recently escaped from Devil's Asteroid; known to carry fusion weapons and disease chambers; laser used in last detonation (family Thanksgiving); 79 previous convictions; no vaccinations"
―Excerpt from the wanted poster for the "Marauder of Endor"[1]

Thanksgiving was a type of celebration in the galaxy. The criminal known as the "Marauder of Endor" once used a laser to cause a detonation during a family's Thanksgiving celebration. The event was mentioned on a wanted poster for the "Marauder of Endor," under the "Special Data" section.[1]

Behind the scenes

Thanksgiving was mentioned in a one-page wanted poster for the "Marauder of Endor," written by Bob Carrau for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas—a publication that combines creature designs and photographs from various projects of George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise—with original text by Carrau.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical[2] within the Star Wars Legends continuity.[3] In the real world, Thanksgiving is a holiday centered around giving thanks and spending time with friends and family.[4]
