The Tetan nobility were the noble houses of the planet Empress Teta. They included the family of Sianna Sekko and the ruling Keto family. The nobility and the ruling family formed the Tetan monarchy.

History

According to the quasi-historical Qel-Droma Epics, the corrupt noble descendants of Empress Teta formed the Krath cult a millennium after the Great Hyperspace War, empowered by Sith artifacts.[1]

By 22 BBY,[2] the Mining Guild asserted control over the nobles and eventually usurped the power of the ruling Keto family in all but name. The guild's affiliation with the Confederacy of Independent Systems caused Empress Teta to side against the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, while loyalist nobles fled to Coruscant. After the war ended with a Separatist defeat, the newly-formed Galactic Empire installed these nobles in positions of power, such as planetary bureaucrats or Mining Guild administrators.[1]

During the Imperial Era, Alor Keto was the Emperor of Empress Teta, but was an ineffectual puppet of the Mining Guild, and had declining health. The rightful heir of the planet was Eara Lota, Keto's niece. The rest of the nobility has a minority share of all Mining Guild operations in the Empress Teta system, granting them immense wealth. Most nobles focus on keeping up appearances among various social circles (some going deep into debt to do so), or on furthering pet causes. Others, however, are ambitious for power beyond what wealth can claim, and climb the corporate ladder of the Mining Guild.[1]
