This Template's Appearance
Any ideas of wookifying this template? My best ideas are something to do with Red Squadron or Vader's lightsaber. --SparqMan 19:22, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know where to look". Ok, maybe this is not the best one, but it's still and IDEA! - TopAce 19:24, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps make the template redder? -- Riffsyphon1024 19:43, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Heir to the Empire mentions the Chimaera having a "red alert" system. Maybe there's a picture of this from the comic? I'll try and dig up a quote. --Imp 20:21, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- There is a picture, but I'm not sure whether it's usable. You can see that page here -LtNOWIS 20:39, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- How about this passage from C-3PO in ANH: "Where are you going? Well, I'm not going that way. It's much too rocky. This way is much easier. What makes you think there are settlements over there? Don't get technical with me!" And then something about Wiki users adding to Threepio's memory banks by creating articles for these links. Just an idea - Kwenn 20:57, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)

- Maybe a shot of some red turbolaser bolts? They look like red underlines...kinda. --SparqMan 21:06, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)

- If we think more metaphorically than literally, how about a pic of Luke and Leia facing the bridgeless abyss, and have "Find the controls that extend the bridge!" be the quote? jSarek 22:13, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- How about Obi-Wan in the Jedi Archives with the title "Perhaps the archives are incomplete." - Lord Hydronium 03:11, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I like it. On a similar note, what about the Jedi analysis droids (I don't have the DVD with me now for the exact quote) which were stumped re: the Kaminoan saber-dart? RMF 03:28, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe you could have Jocasta Nu retort, "If it does not appear in our files, it does not exist!" But then that would throw users off into thinking they really didn't. :P -- Riffsyphon1024 03:33, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
With no discussion on this in a while, I took the initiative of changing it. This didn't seem to be too controversial a discussion, but I hope no one has any serious objections. - Lord Hydronium 23:13, 13 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Articles with bogus redlinks
One thing that I have noticed in many articles with the redlink tag is that they have many things redlinked which shouldn't be. Perhaps a sentence to this effect would be appropriate on the tag, something like: This article has an excess of redlinks in it. Attention is requested to create new articles from these links or to remove non-notable links from this page. Once the redlink concentration has gone down, this notice can then be removed. RMF 02:56, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Could you give an example? Maybe we want those "bogus links". -- Riffsyphon1024 03:31, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- How about the A-wing page (look under specifications at the bottom) or Endor (look under major cities and points of interest) or Dagelin Minor. Browsing through some of the articles in the redlinks category, I think I see what you mean--but some of the articles (like Santhe/Sienar Technologies) have redlinks that can't be fixed because there just isn't enough info.
- Actually, all of those things seem like things we should have articles (albeit stubs) for. jSarek 04:31, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I just unlinked several things in the Duel of the Droids article. Somebody had added links to nonexistent pages like "Control panel" and "File". Whomever wrote the article seemed to want to put as many things as possible in the list of "Appearances". I'm surprised they didn't list characters' clothing, too. These non-notable (or frivolous) links just make clutter. --Lance E Sloan 13:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Color
I liked it red, it matched with redlinks, and I think the gray doesn't look as good. Anyone mind if it's changed? — Aiddat (Holonet) (Contribs Log) 16:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
WookieeProject reference?
Should a reference be made in the template to Wookieepedia:WookieeProject Missing articles? ~ Jaywin
How many
How many redlinks justifies this template? I think more than 5. --Eyrezer 12:23, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Great question. That's just what I wanted to ask. --Lance E Sloan 13:46, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Umm... Now I feel silly. I took a closer look at the template and I saw the text that said more than five. When I skimmed the page earlier, that just blended in with the "Source" section. I moved it to a "Usage" section. --Lance E Sloan 13:55, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
