Why?

You have this inserted in line 6:

{{#if:{{#if:{{{BG1|}}}|{{{BG1}}}|999999}}|background: #{{#if:{{{BG1|}}}|{{{BG1}}}|999999}}|background: #999999}}

Why? From what I understand, you're trying to tell the template that if nothing is entered in BG1, then the default would be background: #999999. Why not just put in the following?:

background: {{#if:{{{BG1|}}}|{{{BG1}}}|#999999}}

Or is there something I'm not getting here...

I duplicated this template on to my Wikia[1] about a year ago, but I knew little about Wikicoding. I wondered why it didn't look identical to the one on this wikia. I now know why, but not how. From what I can tell, it's getting more coding from <div id="Government_infobox" class="infobox hidable" and {| class="infoboxtable hidable-content", but I do not understand where that code is or how it's inputted. I had to reconfigure the template manually, and I only achieved a somewhat identical look after about 4 months[2]. Could someone please tell me? --User:Kris159 (forgot to put sign, so I'll estimate:) 13:43, December 23rd 2010

  • I don't know about the first one, but the template does not look identical on your wiki because Wookieepedia's infoboxes' styling is defined in our Common.css. 1358 (Talk) 14:24, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
