This template is to be used for citing Blogger posts.

Usage

Copy the template code below and paste it into the appropriate place in an article. Fill in the required fields plus as many of the optional fields as necessary and remove any that you don't use. For use in External links sections and similar, leave url and text empty.

Required parameters

  • |subdomain= Subdomain of the URL of the author's Blogger blog such as the geekosity subdomain of the URL https://geekosity.blogspot.com/ used in the below examples.
  • |name= Name of the author's Blogger blog.
  • |url= URL of the Blogger post, minus the domain (and subdomain) name. (For example, if citing the post http://geekosity.blogspot.com/2009/08/endnotes-for-star-wars-essential-atlas_24.html, only put 2009/08/endnotes-for-star-wars-essential-atlas_24.html in this field, without including http://geekosity.blogspot.com/).
  • |text= Name of the Blogger post being cited.

Optional parameters

  • |date= Date the Blogspot post was published online. In the format YYYY-MM-DD.
  • |quote= Relevant quote from the Blogger post. Users are encouraged to utilize this optional field in the template whenever possible, especially when citing canonical information, as Blogger posts are subject to permanent removal at any time.

Backup links

In accordance with our Sourcing policy, all links to external sites must include a link to a backup version, preferably using Internet Archive. Instances that do not include one of the following parameters will result in the page being placed in the maintenance category. Please only use one of the following parameters.

  • |archivedate=20251219104719
    This parameter uses the timestamp feature of Internet Archive. The URL supplied earlier in the template, along with archivedate, will provide a link to Internet Archive.
  • |archiveurl=https://archive.is/EfD8P
    If Internet Archive does not work for the link in question, you can use archiveurl to provide a full URL to another backup website, such as archive.today.
  • |archivefile=File:Jon_Favreau_The_Mandalorian.png
    If none of the archiving sites work, then upload a screenshot of the page, add {{Notorphan}} to the file page and include it in this category and on this page, and provide a link to the file (per Wookieepedia:Mofferences/June 29, 2014).
  • |nobackup=1
    If no backup link can be found for content that is no longer available, this parameter can be used. If the content is still available, you can screenshot and upload it to Wookieepedia instead.
  • |nolive=1
    If the original content is no longer available, this parameter can be used, which will make the template add "content now obsolete;" to the citation. This may also mean a backup link can no longer be provided, and therefore may be used as well as |nobackup=1. Some citation templates such as {{SWArchive}} link to older content that is known to be no longer available, and therefore automatically default to |nolive=1 without the need to add the parameter manually.
  • |oldversion=1
    If a reference needs to cite an older version of a page for content that has been removed from the version saved in ArchiveAccess, this parameter must be used. This suppresses the tracking categories for custom archive values, and protects the reference from replacement by C4-DE Bot.

Note that for citation templates using a central repository, archivedate and archiveurl values must be added to the repository, and not on the individual instance of those templates. If this template uses one, it is located at Module:ArchiveAccess/Blogspot.
