Teha Zero founded the cyberneticist cult known as the New Men on the planet Metellos sometime before the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. Zero advocated the merging of man and machine, and foresaw a future where everyone lived in peace because scarcity and physical limitations would be non-existent. However, when Zero died[1] sometime before 3641 BBY,[2] her protege Bezar One took over the cult and turned it into a pro-cyborg terrorist group.[1]
Behind the scenes
Teha Zero was first mentioned in the Codex entry for the New Men in the 2011 massively multiplayer online roleplaying video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[1]

Forums: Dear Story Team, What Year Are We Currently In? on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) and Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establish that the Battle of Ilum and the end of Act III for the class storylines of Star Wars: The Old Republic occur in late 3640 BBY and prior to the events of The Old Republic: Annihilation, which is also set in 3640 BBY per The Essential Reader's Companion. Annihilation establishes that the Treaty of Coruscant collapsed approximately eighteen months prior, or in 3641 BBY, and as Act III occurs after the treaty's collapse, the act begins sometime between 3641 BBY and 3640 BBY.
