This blue-leaved plant was used by Doctor Nuvo Vindi for the production of the Blue Shadow Virus. He kept a number of them in the Trade Federation laboratory on Naboo.[1]

Behind the scenes

This type of plant first appeared in the episode "Blue Shadow Virus" of The Clone Wars: Season One.[1] In the original script the plants were supposed to be "tea leaf plants," but Giancarlo Volpe and Dave Filoni decided to design them more attuned to the Blue Shadow Virus, hence their blue color.[2]
