Tayala Akuna was a human female who was the wife of former Jedi Knight Bode Akuna, and mother of Kata Akuna.

Biography

"One day Kata and I were out running errands and I got this message. Don't come home."
"Inquisitors."
"Looking for me. My wife... bought us the time to escape."

After becoming the wife of former Jedi Knight Bode Akuna and having a daughter with him, Kata Akuna, Tayala was killed by the Inquisitors after her executors failed to discover the location of her husband, a Jedi survivor of Order 66, in the Akuna family home in Birren. Upon their arrival, Tayala quickly sent a message to Bode warning him and her daughter not to come home. After the Galactic Empire discovered his absence, they took their frustration out on her instead, ending her life.^[2]

Tayala's death deeply affected her family, especially her husband.

Following her death her husband began working for the ISB, partly because Bode wanted to know which Inquisitor killed his wife and because the ISB helped keep Kata safe. Kata realized that her father changed due to her mother's death, and perhaps she herself too. After her father's death, Kata placed her doll Mookie, the one her mother had given her, to burn along with her father's body on a funeral pyre.^[2]
