Tarast Voon was a Force-sensitive Kel Dor male who traveled to Spintir to rescue his former mentor, Hethan Romund.
Biography
At some point in his youth, Voon discovered he was Force-sensitive. He was deeply excited by this and asked if it meant he could join the Jedi Order. However, despite his young age, he was deemed to old to begin the training, much to his dismay.[1]
Shortly afterwards, the Great Jedi Purge occured along with the formation of the Galactic Empire. As a result Voon was forced into hiding, as he was too young to fight back against the newly–formed Empire. His family, and later a evergrowing network of contacts, shuffled Voon from planet to planet, keeping him hidden from the Empire. On each planet he was taught details about their way of life, Voon, ever curious, enjoyed this immensely. However, he constantly longed for the stability and consistency that he could seemingly never have. As a way of coping with this he began to fixate on whatever challenges he could.[1]
Voon spent fifteen years on the run, dreaming of a becoming a scholar, though forced into the life of a renegade. He studied all he could of the Jedi and the Force, eventually finding an ally in fellow scholar Hethan Romund. The two spent three years exploring ancient ruins and far–out libraries. With Romund eventually assisting Voon in the construction of his own lightsaber.[1]
After an unfortunate close call with an Imperial agent, the two parted ways, with Voon convinced that his very presence was putting his friend in danger, something he was unwilling to risk.[1]
A distress call reached Voon, in 0 ABY, that his old friend Romund had been captured by the dark sider Malefax and taken to a lost temple on Mount Tellec on the Outer Rim planet of Spintir. In order to save her, he joined forces with a band of other Force–sensitive allies Romund had made over the years.[1]
