Tantajoc V was a jungle-covered planet in the Tantajo system of the Mid Rim Halori sector.[1] Tantajoc V orbited a binary star and was completely uninhabited by sentients as of 3 ABY, although its harsh and humid forests[4] teemed with dangerous predators.[3] After fleeing a coup on nearby Velmor in 17 BBY, Velmorian crown prince Denid and his retainer Jedidiah crash-landed on Tantajoc V,[4] where they survived for the next 20 years in a hostile environment. Rebel leaders Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker tracked Denid's distress signal to Tantajoc V in 3 ABY, finally rescuing him from his exile and returning him to Velmor to assume his throne.[3]
Behind the scenes
Tantajoc V first appeared in Star Wars (1977) 49, written by Mike W. Barr, illustrated by Walter Simonson and released in 1981.[3] Although the world went unnamed in its original comic appearance, its name was given in 2003, as part of the Wizards of the Coast article Velmor: Royalty and Rebellion.[4]
