Tandem jumps were a means of travel through hyperspace by which two starships would jointly perform hyperspace jumps. Both ships required a tractor beam, which each would engage on the other. Only one of the vessels required a hyperdrive, and that ship would pull the second along with it when it made its jump to hyperspace.[1]
