Talon Squad was one of four clone trooper squads that served within the Grand Army of the Republic's 2nd Platoon during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1]
The squad consisted of nine clone troopers,[1] one of whom was a corporal who acted as the squad's second-in-command.[2] Talon Squad was commanded by Green, who served as the squad's clone sergeant[1] at the height of the Clone Wars.[3]

Talon Squad was first mentioned in "Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic," an eight-page reference article written by Ryan Kaufman and Karen Traviss for the eighty-fourth issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine[1] and published by IDG Entertainment on September 26, 2005.[4]
