Is this a depiction of a member of this species? --Lewisr (talk) 15:25, November 7, 2017 (UTC)
- I doubt it. Doesn't really look like Yoda. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:39, November 7, 2017 (UTC)
- Fair enough --Lewisr (talk) 15:46, November 7, 2017 (UTC)
- I, for one, do think it looks like it. You can even see what resembles a lightsaber clipped on the belt. Maybe the future will tell us! --Lelal Mekha

- Although it looks like it and probably is, we don't know much about the cave paintings and their meanings, I would love it if it was one of Yoda's species but it could be an Easter egg for all we know, so I think we should hold off on that until later when more info comes out about it.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 16:56, November 7, 2017 (UTC)
- Are we all looking at the same thing? The being depicted in that painting has 3 things (ears?) coming out of its head. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:05, November 7, 2017 (UTC)

- I probably should have mentioned that in my initial comment --Lewisr (talk) 17:08, November 7, 2017 (UTC)
- Ohhhhhhh... okay I thought either I was going crazy or you all were. XD Yeah, that definitely looks like Yoda, but I agree with Vitus. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:09, November 7, 2017 (UTC)

BTS
Do we need to include the 'as of Feb 2018 etc both Yoda's and Yaddle's databank entries list the species as unknown' part? It only rarely gets updated when someone comes across it and I'm not really sure it needs to be there --Lewisr (talk) 23:34, February 25, 2018 (UTC)
- No I don't believe we need to include it--Vitus InfinitusTalk 00:01, February 26, 2018 (UTC)
The request for a source on the statement about all of the members of the species showing some connection with the Force seems a little silly. Yaddle and Yoda were both members of the Jedi Council, and The Child (best name I can give it, since that's the name of the episode) clearly uses the Force in protecting the Mandalorian. What other source do we need there? 45.24.20.102 21:15, November 17, 2019 (UTC)
- Extrapolating this to apply to the entire species is pure speculation, especially considering the sample size is so small. The Force-sensitivity of the three individuals you mentioned can be described without taking speculative leaps. 1358 (Talk) 21:20, November 17, 2019 (UTC)

Wording
I am unable to make the edit myself, as the article is protected, but I think the first sentence in "Yoda's species in the galaxy" should be worded differently. Specifically, I'd like to recommend the more grammatically correct "The species, its origins shrouded in mystery, was..." EthSch13 (talk) 16:25, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Digits
I assume any mention of their amount of digits is missing from the biology section due to the plot hole regarding Yoda's number of toes? EthSch13 (talk) 21:47, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Not really a plot hole, more like an inconsistency, but I guess that could potentially be why it wasn't added! If anything it could be worth adding to the BTS section --Lewisr (talk) 21:51, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Carnivore diet unsourced
The carnivore diet is shown in Mandalorian S1E7, ~20 minute mark.—Unsigned comment by 212.150.240.42 (talk • contribs)
- Yoda makes vegetable stew so they could not be carnivorous. Changed to omnivorous. OOM 224 (he/him) 11:27, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
Appearance in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
At one point in the movie E.T., while he's dressed as a ghost and leaves the house with the kids, there's another child dressed as Yoda. When E.T. notices the Yoda lookalike, he starts saying "home!" over and over, before being ushered away by the other children. It makes sense that E.T. recognized the Yoda race and assumed it was another non-terrestrial, and that perhaps they could help him get home.
This would mean that Yoda's species is known to E.T.'s species in present (Earth) day.
Of course you could also just write this off as an Easter egg and not intended as anything more, but as it does seem to be accepted that E.T.'s species is canon in Star Wars, that means a depiction of Yoda's species (even if it was just a costume) in E.T. could also be canon, and so perhaps should be noted on this page?
