Where is it?

YT-700

I can't find this ship in the Adventure Journal #5. Where is it? Page Number? -- Frank V Bonura 13:29, June 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • I looked, and it's mentioned in the entry for Wind Raiders of Taloraan that the Jackpot is a YT-700. I have no idea where the picture came from. <-Omicron 02:50, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
    • I am thinking the picture is a bit of overzealous conjecture. I am removing it. I will leave the picture here so we can remember which image in question it was. It may turn out to be a YT-700 but I need some official proof on the matter. -- Frank V Bonura 13:04, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
      • Hey there. Cavalier One tracked the image down to the article The Kaal Connection from AJ7. The article makes no mention of YT-700 at all. --Imperialles 14:56, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
        • If that is the case why was the image put back in the article??? Honestly, we have no idea what this ship is unless we contact the artist and/or the author of the AJ7 article. I must also ask why AJ7 is being cited as a source if it makes no mention of YT-700??? This article is about the YT-700 not an unknown ship drawing. Please explain. -- Frank V Bonura 15:18, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
          • An administrator reverted you, apparently. Maybe he knows something we don't, but I can't find anything to connect that image with the YT-700 at all. --Imperialles 15:48, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

The image

The illo does, however, conform to the YT Series general design, with a single cargo mandible instead of the 2 seen on the YT 1300 & others. Size seems right, too. I don't know if this is a YT-700, but it is certainly in the ballpark.--Bosda Di'Chi 13:30, June 24, 2010 (UTC) --98.87.42.16 20:17, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • Note that the illo has the "look" of the YT Series, as well.--Bosda Di'Chi 13:23, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
  • I e-mailed Peter Schweighofer, co-author of the article. His reply:

Thanks for your e-mail regarding The Official Star Wars Adventure Journal article "The Kaal Connection."

The ship pictured in the article's opening illustration is not in fact the Emperor's Shadow mentioned in the fiction introduction. Artist David Dietrick was asked to create a setting piece to show a generic player ship and the island locale in which the characters would adventure. You're correct in making this assumption, especially given the size and look of the ship -- we asked the artist to create a variation on the YT- 1300 freighter without copying the model's exact form.

Thanks for your interest in The Official Star Wars Adventure Journal. I'm still flattered that Star Wars fans and gamers are still interested in the materials we created so many years ago, and Wookieepedia is a fantastic resource.

Best regards, Peter

  • I think that pretty much clears up the issue. The image is not a YT-700, but rather a YT-1300 look-alike. --Imperialles 13:57, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Deck plans

Are there deck plans for this ship?--Bosda Di'Chi 14:32, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, this is all the information we have currently. --Imperialles 14:56, June 14, 2010 (UTC)
