10th in series?
I know its not been officially said but should it be mentioned in this or the x-wing series article that this is potentially a 10th novel to the series?--Mando'ade1138 05:23, August 21, 2010 (UTC) edit: sorry about not signing after originally posting
- Until more information becomes available, that'd really just be jumping the gun. We don't even know if that'd be accurate, since the Wraiths are not even technically an X-Wing unit any longer. It is also unlikely to be a continuation of the series since the X-Wing books were done under the Bantam license, not Del Rey, and there might be issues on using that specific subtitle. -Zekk_Skywalk 05:33, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Good point though i think that the squadron remained a commando/x-wing unit just under intelligence rather than fighter commands control, i'll have to check. But i think we should put garik "Face" loran, piggy, elasaar and kell in apperearences seeing as we know they remained in the squadron up to the yuuzhan vong invaision, possibly shalla as well but i dont think it was ever mentioned if she remained a member of the squad or just became a regular intelligence agent prior to betrayal.--Mando'ade1138 17:02, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Again, no. That's jumping to conclusions on various fronts, including the assumption that it will focus on the Wraiths prior to or concurrent with their appearance in NJO. -Zekk_Skywalk 21:43, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
Chronology
I've been adding the appearances of characters in the excerpt from Mercy Kill that was included in Apocalypse, and I realized: since this excerpt takes place in 13 ABY, 31 years before the overall book, where should the book be placed on the list of appearances (since they should go in chronological order)? We don't know who among these characters will still be present in the 44 ABY portions of the book, so it seems inappropriate to place the book after, fox example, Kell Tainer's appearance in The Unifying Force. Thoughts? Jenosidanian 21:05, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
- The book is still listed as taking place as after Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse, since its main time-frame is in 44 ABY. Though the excerpt takes place in 13 ABY, that still does not affect where this book goes in appearances. And the characters who appear in that excerpt will still be listed when the overall novel is released. So in conclusion, in spite of the year that the excerpt takes place in, it is still fairly appropriate to list it as taking place after Apocalypse. Appearances
The appearances list is in need of a major update. 24.250.54.143 22:52, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
- It's hardly time to be concerned with that. The book just came out and people are still reading it for the first time. People are going through and recording what gets mentioned and that will be added when they finish. Feel free to be BOLD and add some yourself. NaruHina Talk

Behind the Scenes
(Spoiler Alert)
This quote appears in the "Behind the Scenes" section:
On page 21, the third paragraph opened with the following two sentences: "...the weariness came from within [Voort saBinring]. Internal and eternal." "Eternal" should have been "external," for Voort's weariness could not be eternal in any sense.
I don't know if this is necessarily a mistake on the part of the author. Describing his weariness as both internal and eternal illustrates a truly exhausted and fatigued Voort. The weariness flows from within Voort, stemming from his mercy kill of Runt. It's eternal because he sees no hope for absolution of his act and finds no joy or purpose to his life anymore. He sees no end in sight. The rest of the paragraph serves to reinforce this depiction of Voort:
There was nothing at either end of his two-kilometer daily commute to beckon him, to invigorate him. His students seemed to be blocks of permacrete, immobile and emotionless, eduring his courses as though to do so were a condition of parole. His home was a place where he could sleep, nothing more.
I think that the text found in the book is correct and that the first quote should be removed from the behind the scenes section. --Ernesto1035 (talk) 23:51, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
Comment
Is it still necessary to include Shelley Shapiro's comment about "two Wraith Squadrons"? It's been almost two years since the novel was published. —Unsigned comment by 24.250.54.143 (talk • contribs)
- Yes. It is useful for tracking the development of the book, especially if someone wants to eventually expand the development section. Corellian Premier
