Picture does not match textual evidence

So. (I was writing this message when the talk page was deleted. Guess I'll have to make it shorter.) The waveskimmer's depiction in Leia and the Great Island Escape does not match textual evidence, which is confirmed by Jason Fry's intent. Should the infobox illustration be relocated to the BTS, as well as any information derived from it? It seems to me that, in case of contradiction, the novel should take precedence over its young readers' adaptation. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 19:05, September 13, 2019 (UTC)

  • I think it was deleted because of point 4 from the mofference from May. Usually you create the page with the talkheader template and then you type out the message, so I guess its best to do both from the start from now on. Yeah I'd say it probably should be relocated to the BTS then if that's the case, seems like the best way to handle it --Lewisr (talk) 19:14, September 13, 2019 (UTC)
  • To be honest I feel as though the textual evidence given in the article isn't enough to contradict the portrayal in the adaptation. While Fry may have intended it to be the WEG waveskimmers, a canon source has depicted them as the Dark Empire skimmers. We have no reason to believe that Fry stating his intentions invalidates that adaptation, and I'd be surprised if that's what Fry wanted. Ayrehead02 (talk) 19:39, September 13, 2019 (UTC)
    • Well, the waveskimmer, as depicted by Pilot Studio, certainly doesn't look black and definitely doesn't have a rider. Why don't you think this is enough? --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 19:41, September 13, 2019 (UTC)
      • The term rider, while not traditionally used for this kind of vehicle might just be the term used for the individuals driving this specific model of vehicle in the same way pilot wouldn't generally be used to describe someone driving a podracer like vehicle. It certainly isn't enough to extrapolate into discounting the entire adaptation depiction. The black part is certainly true, but I would simply mention that in the BTS. If Fry says we should discount the depiction then go for it, but I strongly feel he will not. Ayrehead02 (talk) 19:49, September 13, 2019 (UTC)
