Spoilers

There's no point in that spoiler tag, the page is so short that you can't avoid seeing it. --Imperialles 15:24, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Maybe true, but it's the idea behind it that is important. A spoiler averse user may see it on the page and avoid it. It doesn't hurt anything to leave it in there until we lift the EPIII spoilers. --SparqMan 15:34, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Raising an old discussion here, but if film overrides novelization, than Wat's novel death can't still apply. He loses his arms and head, but when we see Wat's body in the film, it's clear that they're still attached. Why not move his book death to 'behind the scenes' as with the other leaders?Eggmanland 01:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, I moved it to the actual article only because I think we need to try to incorporate this stuff into the actual biography instead of the "Behind the scenes" section. It seems to me that we're just disregarding all of the differences in the novel. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 01:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Well, if what is seen on film is different, I thought the idea was that the film takes priority. This is one of those cases where the two versions can't really be combined. I don't think there's anything wrong with having a 'behind the scenes' entry describing something that's noteworthy, but non-canon.Eggmanland 08:49, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
        • Except it's not non-canon. It appears in a canon source. And can we even be so sure that Wat is in one piece in the movie? Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 12:08, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
          • It appears in a canon source, but it's contradicted by a higher canon source. I'm looking at the DVD right now. His right arm is outstretched a little. You could make the argument that it was severed, but the left arm is firmly attached to the shoulder (and he's slumped at angle where if it wasn't, it should have fallen off), and his head is still inside his neckbrace (and at the angle, that too would roll out if it wasn't attached). Unless Anakin came back and propped his arms and head back on as best as he could, I'd say he still has them.Eggmanland 21:10, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
            • That's still disregarding canon, regardless of the fact that the movie is a higher canon source. And the only way to fix that disregard of canon is to somehow incorporate both accounts of his death. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 21:20, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
              • So you're saying we should include both accounts, even if that makes no sense? What's the point of 'higher canon,' then?Eggmanland 21:42, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
                • All I'm saying is it shouldn't be in the "Behind the scenes" section. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 21:44, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • It shouldn't be in the main article, either. That just leads to confusion. How about we change 'behind the scenes' to 'trivia'?Eggmanland 22:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
                    • No, because there's still "Behind the scenes" information. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 22:52, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
                      • So create some kind of 'other versions' section or something. Just don't try to combine two contradictory accounts of the same event. That just doesn't make any sense. I don't think you not wanting this information in 'behind the scenes' justifies putting it in the main article.Eggmanland 00:11, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
                        • I only did that because it was being treated as non-canon, which it isn't. If you can find a better way of wording it, go right on ahead. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 00:59, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
                          • The source is canon, but the particular depiction of the event is not. I understand that to be the rule when there are differences between film and novelization. You're saying we should disregard that simply because you want both versions to be considered true.Eggmanland 03:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
                              • Both versions are true, to a point. I'm well aware that the movies have a higher canon standing than their books, but that doesn't mean we treat the book's depicition of an event as non-canon. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 12:13, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
                                • So far, the only real reason you've included this in the main article is because you didn't think it should be in 'behind the scenes,' and I don't think that's a good enough reason, especially when both accounts are contradictory and cannot actually be reconciled. You can't have both happen, and yet, that's exactly what you're saying. I think you let your personal opinion in regards to the novelization get in the way when you made this edit.Eggmanland 20:41, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
                                  • My personal opinion on the novelization is that it's bad, and should have never been written with so many differences. But my opinions don't matter here. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 21:20, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Just something I thought of...

Okay, we have a Skakoan here in a pressurized "body suit". According to many sources, when a Skakoan's body depressurizes, boom, he blows up. But in both the Clone Wars cartoon series and Tambor's death in RotS, they don't blow up. First off, in the Clone Wars series, okay, a few of them fall off of the boarding ramp to the Hardcell transport. But then, Anakin chokes one until his suit just gives way. Now, maybe Anakin was able to contain the explosion, and possibly even the same for Wat Tambor on Mustafar. But in the HoloNet News in an Insider issue, a group of two or three Skakoans depressurize themselves to blow up the cage that Tambor's in. Now, it is me, or is something a little wrong here between the facts and the cartoon and the movie? Cmdr. J. Nebulax 00:13, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • Actually, we don't see Tambor die in the movie itself. And the exploding Skakoans first appeared in the comics, so I'd just dismiss the ones in the cartoon as an aberration. (Especially since it contradicts in so many other places with canon as it is.). QuentinGeorge 00:15, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
    • Well, thanks for that little bit there, Quentin. But, it would have made the movie a whole lot better if Wat Tambor exploded onscreen like many Skakoans in the past. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 00:17, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
      • Maybe they implode rather than explode? -- Riffsyphon1024 00:25, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
        • Possibly. But then again, since they didn't have Tambor's death in the movie, we'll never actually see a Skakoan implode/explode (except for that one Star Wars: Republic issue, forget which one) or tell if that is actually what happens when a Skakoan becomes depressurized. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 11:55, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
          • Okay, one last thing: Maybe when a Skakoan dies with his suit on, he doesn't really have to implode/explode. The only problem with that theory is that in the Republic comic, someone shoots a Skakoan with a suit one, causing him and two other to blow up. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 11:57, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
            • It's the suit that causes the explosion - its the explosive decompression of the pressurised suit they wear. A Skakoan without a suit would just die. QuentinGeorge 12:11, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
  • In the RotS novel, Tambor tells Vader he can take whatever he wants. Vader thanks him and takes Tambor's arms, followed by his head; his lightsabre doesn't actually pierce the pressure suit at all - Kwenn
    • Okay, I understand that, but I believe there was a picture that shows Anakin's lightsaber piercing Tambor's pressure suit. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 20:30, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
      • From the picture, which I messed up so badly with the links, I still don't think the Skakoans explode. Maybe they look like they deflate, I have no clue. Gwai Lo 22:36, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
        • No, Skakoans do explode/possibly implode. They definitely don't deflate. But, what I'm thinking is, if Anakin could be able to kill Skakoans, he probally used a Force trick to keep them from exploding/imploding. Cmdr. J. Nebulax 23:41, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
          • The Making of SW3 book confirms Wat Tambor is grabbed by Anakin and starts to beg for mercy but is stabbed. (The comic reveals he is stabbed in the chest.)--Wattamb5000 14:13, 31 Dec 2005 (UTC)

What did he shoot at Boba from his hand?

In the Boba Fett Novel A New Threat?

  • From his hand? Admiral J. Nebulax 21:17, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
    • He raised his hand. A ray of scarlet light surged from it. With a cry Boba dove to one side. The ray struck the floor, pulverizing plasteel into smoking goo. Page. 124--Rune Haako 21:35, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
      • Funny, I read the book and don't remember it. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:15, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Issues resolved now?

CountDooku13, I've edited the page now. Please note that it still includes the majority of your version. Will this work, or must we continue to debate it? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 13:47, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I am staisfied with Wat's Artcle. I also suppose that the information about San Hill being stranded in the E'Y-Akh Desert wasn't necsasary either. Also since the friendship of San and Wat wasn't directly mentioned (though implied) in the movies that this is acceptable, so the subjects disputed over are resolved. May I lower the shield? Image issues

I'm having two issues with the images on this page. First, the full-body pic of Wat shows up to about the point where the first section of the article ends, and then is cut off. Secondly, the image of Wat sans helmet doesn't show up at all, and all I see is a white space. Does anyone have any ideas as how to fix these issues? PS: These images do appear completely when I click on their location. PPS: Why doesn't Wat have an infobox?--CT-5619 helmet comlink 14:33, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

The Clone Wars + The New Droid Army

Shouldn't the information of The New Droid Army be before The Clone Wars series? Anakin is shown in his Episode II attire rather than his Episode III one in the game. Zakor1138 23:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Never mind. I'll move it. Zakor1138 23:17, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Voice Actor in Episode II

His voice isn't provided by Christopher Truswell, he's voiced by Sound Designer Ben Burtt which is revealed by Matthew Wood in the special features of The Clone Wars episode: Liberty on Ryloth (The video can be found on YouTube). I don't know where the source of Chris Truswell voicing someone in Star Wars came from but apparently it's really just a speculation. --A-Stone 11:14, July 21, 2011 (UTC)A-Stone

Matthew Wood confirms that Burtt voiced Tambor in Episode II on the Liberty on Ryloth Featurette on the Complete Season 1. Fast forward to 2:30 where there is a section about Wat Tambor. Liberty on Ryloth Featurette--Jade Cooper (talk) 15:30, January 26, 2016 (UTC)
