Who knows if he is a captain?

I think this article should be renamed to not include the captian title. It is pure speculation. Although the Imperial Sourcebook states this rank insignia a code cylinder combination to be a captain’s, there are examples of this not been the case. In ESB another officer on the bridge Ardan with the same insignia is a lieutenant commander. Another imperial officer in ESB also wears the exact same insignia. His article is named Unidentified Imperial officer (Executor), without the assumption of him being a captain.--Davidvcsandersen 17:18, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • This is not pure speculation. The captaincy rank in fact comes straight from the ESB novelization, which describes the officer standing next to Piett in that scene, which corresponds to this individual in the film, as his captain. The fact that his rank insignia corresponds to a captain's as well, despite other, unrelated canon contradictions, only reinforces this point. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:09, March 1, 2012 (UTC)
    • I agree that many things pointed to him being a captain, I was just looking for the evidence. Imperial Sourcebook in itself IMHO cannot be considered conclusive evidence/information, as it has too many controversies with the movies. But I do accept the ESB novelization reference you just presented for me, and Imperial Sourcebook does back this up. Thx. --Davidvcsandersen 18:06, March 2, 2012 (UTC)
