Star Wars in Mayan Civilization
I added a little bit of trivia about the phrase "Star Wars" in Mayan Civilization. This was removed as "speculation", however if you read the included link to "Star War" you will see that it is a fact that the Mayans Refered to a Star War (vs an Axe War) as a "major war" resulting in "the installation of a new dynastic line of rulers at a site, complete dominion of one site over another, or a successful war of independence"
I have no idea if Lucas knows about the Mayans, but I feel that this might be of interest to someone who lands on this page about a Mayan ruin used as a location. If you feel strongly that it is uninteresting, feel free to remove it. However, the fact is not made up or speculative.
- "Star war" is an English translation of the Mayan script, and "star" and "war" are pretty common subjects across human languages, so the result is more of a coincidence rather than Mayan language having any relevance to the Star Wars franchise—especially since Lucas used the title to describe literally interstellar war.
