Canonicity

exactly how "official" is the information published in the OSWFF? --BaldFett 11:42, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

  • What part of "Official" is ambiguous? --Azizlight 11:53, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
  • ie. it's as official as any other official source. --Azizlight 11:57, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
    • But what if it contradicts with other sources, that's what I actually ment :P How high in the canon list is the OSWFF? --BaldFett 12:38, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
      • It was was a collection of information from the films and the EU. So it's as "canon" as any of that. It doesn't contradict with other sources, because it took all its information from those sources. GThat said, it really bugged me how they didn't plan it better, what's the point in having such a gargantuan fact file if it doesn't even include Episode III information? Gah, so frustrating. • Aware this isn't a forum, but I agree. They'd have been better waiting for Ep III rather than covering I and II, vaguely making assumptions about Ep III then jumping to A New Hope --147.197.251.135 00:23, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
        • It doesn't contradict with other sources, because it took all its information from those sources. That's not entirely true. The fact files definitely do provide some new information, and I have noticed some minor inconsitencies with already established canon. --Azizlight 04:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

In-universe perspective

If I understand the "opening crawl" that was written at the back of the Galaxy map provided with the Official Fact Files, the FF were in fact a series of in-universe historical documents gathered by the New Republic at the time of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Should there be an in-universe article, then? --LelalMekha 14:08, June 1, 2012 (UTC)

New run

New run of fact files So there making a new run of these fact files which I think is interesting considering how much they deal with EU stuff now that the EU is in contention. Article perhaps should make mention of the new run.59.167.130.228 08:50, January 20, 2014 (UTC)WS

"New Jedi Order" link in the introduction

Hi, I was wondering if the New Jedi Order link was meant to refer to the in-universe article about the actual New Jedi Order or the Legends novel of the same name, which is mentioned in the disambiguation of the term. Realistically, a Legends real life article referring to Canon in-universe article did not make sense for me :D Thanks! UstaEm-Re Republic Emblem (talk) 21:06, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

    • Hi, thank you very much! So it is about the novel? I was mainly asking a question rather than stating it is wrong — I wasn't sure! :D Also just realized the in-universe New Jedi Order is also Legends. But the novel makes more sense to me. UstaEm-Re Republic Emblem (talk) 02:38, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
      • Yeah, in this case it's about the series of novels (which per its name, does include a lot of content about the New Jedi Order as an organization).spookywillowwtalk 02:39, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
