Birth name

An'ya Kuro was her birth name, which she discarded. I'm not sure this should have been moved.--Eion 15:09, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Use the birth name unless it's stupidly obscure. I don't know enought to decide here, but it sounds like this should be under the Dark Woman. --Fade 16:26, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
    • I moved it because the name has since been established. Master Tholme used it. BUt can the age span be correct? As I have pointed out with Ki-Adi Mundi, both cannot be that old - Ki-Adi Mundi looks older than he is. --Gen.d 21:43, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

  • She's human. I speculated the birth date based on the fact she appeared to be in her mid twenties when Ki-Adi-Mundi was 4. If we have dropped back his birthdate, we can drop back hers.     • You guys may be interested in this thread. Tasty apparently agrees with an analysis pegging the Dark Woman's birth around 102 BBY, though I'm too tired to read further to see if some of the disputes sway his opinion. JSarek 09:03, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

"Saba"

    • Saba was an alias she used during an undercover mission to Devaron in 21 BBY. She posed as Tuulaa Doneeta's (who was in fact Aayla Secura) servant. See Jedi: Aayla Secura comic. --Tinwe 11:49, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Saba Sebatyne does seem the more likely being to be looking for when one types in Saba. Should Saba redirect to Saba Sebatyne, made a disambig, or is it all right as it is? Abilities

In the comics it is shown that she has very unique abilities. She's shown bending light around her making herself effectively invisible. She's seen either teleporting through shadow, or walking through walls. And she's seen controlling plant life. I think these unique abilities should be expended upon. Name

Ha ha, very funny, that her name means "motherfucker" in Hungarian.

Really, "anya" means "mother", and "kúrni" means "to fuck". "Kúró" means "fucker".

      • Actually, in Emissaries to Malastare #1, she appears to go thru a wall in a sparkling of purple fairy dust or something. Yes, I know it doesn't really make sense and hasn't been shown since. Gray candidacy

I always thought she sort of fit into the 'gray Jedi' category. Should she be added to the list on that page?Tocneppil 21:50, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Personaly, I agree. She SEEMS to be a gray Jedi, who stayed in contact with the Jedi Order. However, as she stayed in contact with the Order, than I doubt the others will agree. 203.123.89.166 09:57, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Japanese and Her Name

I got rid of this bit: Similarly, 'onna' (which arguably sounds rather similar to An'ya) means "woman." Thus, even before she gave up her name, she was "Dark Woman"

Her name doesn't sound anything at all line onna (oh-nah). I have no idea where they got that idea. Instead, I offer the actual translation of her name. An'ya 暗夜　or　闇夜　in Japanese means dark night. Cariel 15:06, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Class?
