      • I don't own the book so I can't say sorry, if it says 4 then it should be changed to that --Lewisr (talk) 06:45, February 20, 2017 (UTC)

      • USW says four cannons at each wingtip. We can see two cannons below the cockpit's viewport. 4 + 2 = 6. - Tommy-Macaroni Imperial Emblem (Talk) 10:09, April 14, 2017 (UTC)

Unless the two "chin cannons" are actually seen to fire - it's reasonable to presume that, in most Interceptors, they have been taken out (leaving the red "exits" for the blaster bolts, but with no bolts actually coming from them). --217.34.120.214 14:30, December 14, 2017 (UTC)

Source for name?

It seems like the source of the name is to a tweet from Leland.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 21:12, January 21, 2018 (UTC)

Conflicting sources

According to this page Star Wars: Ships of the Galaxy states that the TIE interceptor was created 'upon realization that the TIE Advanced x1 would be too costly to mass-produce, and was also the Empire's direct response to the Rebel Alliance's introduction of faster starships'. The first part of this might hold true, but in Jedi Fallen Order - Dark Temple 1 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the Second Sister is flying a TIE interceptor, whilst its possible this is a prototype, it wouldn't really therefore be in a response direct response to the Rebel Alliance's introduction of faster starships since there is no Rebel Alliance, and only the A-wing is active at this point as far as we know --Lewisr (talk) 03:47, November 21, 2019 (UTC)

  • A-wings were faster than standard tie fighters in terms of miles per hour.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 02:59, November 27, 2019 (UTC)
    • 'Faster starships' implies simply more than just the A-wing, but like I said there is also no Rebel Alliance at this point --Lewisr (talk) 03:03, November 27, 2019 (UTC)

First Order

Didn't DJ display to Finn and Rose that the First Order was producing Interceptors, along with the other ships they were making? so shouldn't they be catagorized as FO vehicles? BearInsanity (talk) 03:15, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

  • Actually, a followup question: while it definitely looks like an empire-era interceptor, could it maybe be a new, FO-era version, similar to the TIE/FO? should we add a page for it? BearInsanity (talk) 19:23, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
    • Pretty sure that it was just the owner of the ship made his money to the good and bad guys. So unless another source identified them as First Order then we shouldn't assume Lewisr (talk) 04:46, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
