Combine

I say we take all the articles about sword-like weapons like Sith Swords of Vibro Swords and combine them into this article, with all the different types of weapons arranged in some sort of order. Darth Vatrir

  • Well, I did it, it took a lot of effort and there is still much work left to be done, but I did it. Lord Darth Vatrir

Swords could not cut other swords

Article says the most notable exception of things swords could not cut through was other swords. What is the Canon-status of this claim? Are SW swords actually supposed to be indistructible, like those in Hollywood movies?DarthMRN 22:18, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

  • In The Best Blades, Yoda says swords nick and dull, which means the claim is false. I will remove it. KotOR's battles were game mechanics. DarthMRN 23:03, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Kressh?

It says Ludo kresshs sword was double-bladed, so it has a blade on each end or jut two sharp edges? 71.38.155.128 21:59, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Archaic?

Why do they claim that swords are considered Archaic by the time of the Empire? they were still standard equipment amongst troops in the Jedi Civil war and were used rather effectively in close quarters combat. Star Wars technology changes very slowly over time so by the time of the Empire can we really say that the standard Sword has completely lost its niche in combat? Sure the Imperial army doesn't put much reliance in hand to hand combat (unfortunately for them as they could use some experience with fighting something they can actually hit :) but there are still a huge amount of private mercanaries, bounty hunters, pirates and private citizens that could still use a handy blade in close quarters combat, the need can't really be technologically phased out--99.152.246.228 02:41, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Obsidian material

Revision 3755694 (diff here) appears to be a re-write and expansion of two paragraphs. Intentional or not however, the edit also moved the Obsidian material to a position that indicates it is capable of blocking lightsaber blades. The Obsidian page itself makes no reference to that capability, and there is no source listed on this page suggesting that capability.

Suggest moving Obsidian back to the normal materials section, removing it from the article altogether, or adding a source and corresponding information to the dedicated page. Garynfett (talk) 06:07, October 11, 2016 (UTC)
