Keep or Delete?
I couldn't bring myself to throw a Trash Compactor tag on the article, but I think we need to evaluate whether or not an article like this belongs. Corellian Premier put some good work into this—hence my aversion to an outright TC—but it's my understanding that we don't make articles for game trailers. The obvious exception are the articles for the TOR trailers Deceived, Hope, and Return. However, these were created with the understanding that they were to be treated differently, as representations of canonical events rather than non-canon promotional clips. While this cinematic is just as aesthetically well-done, and pretty epic if I do say so myself, it portrays a non-canon series of events, and doesn't meet the unofficial criteria the previous three do. Thoughts on the matter would be welcome. Bella'Mia 05:32, February 6, 2012 (UTC)
- I'll vote delete if you TC it. Menkooroo 05:35, February 6, 2012 (UTC)

- Well, its the first appearance of elements of the game--Starkiller, the Gorog, etc. And it thematically represents a mission of the game, albeit one that was significantly changed for the final version. In other words, it's not just a collection of scenes edited together to form a trailer. Corellian Premier

- I was looking forward to hearing your take, CP. And I agree that the industry's new habit of releasing these grand cinematic trailers does sort of muddy the situation, because it's definitely not just spliced scenes from the game. However, it's the fact that the events in the trailer are contradictory to those seen in the game, and unlike the differences between the game, novel, and comic, there's never been any word—to my knowledge—that the trailer was intended to be canonical, or in any other way meaningful, aside from being promotional. Yet we don't have any actual policy—again, that I'm aware of—that outright forbids articles on trailers, just what I find to be a general unwritten concensus, and I do see your point on noting the first appearances of the Starkiller clone and the Gorog. Perhaps a TC would be the best bet after all, and see how people feel about trailer articles when done with a high quality of writing over there. Bella'Mia 06:27, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
- This is the only trailer for this game that has an article—and there were quite a few trailers. There was the one with Starkiller in the snowy forest, and then one with him Force pushing Vader through wall after wall on Kamino. I haven't played the game myself, but I'm relatively certain none of these represent any unique part of canon. There's a big difference between these and the TOR trailers, as far as canon and notability is concerned. This article should be treated exactly like the rest of the trailers for TFU II. - Also a fair point. Perhaps all three could receive a "Behind the scenes" subsection or sections in the main The Force Unleashed II article. I've gone ahead and created a TC thread for this article, though. Premier, be sure you head over and give your input! Bella'Mia 07:16, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
