Original CW series

I'm placing this note at the top, as it seems much more relevant to both maintenance of the page in question, AND possible edits to make this Talk Page conform with the above banner. First off, this Talk Page badly needs cleaned up by someone more familiar with Wiki/Wookieepedia standards than myself. Now more importantly, and directly related to the topic this Talk Page is supposed to address...
It seems that much of the material in sections 2-4 (Memorable Quotes, Credits, and Appearances) may refer to information from the original Cartoon Network series (sometimes referred to as the "Clone Wars Microseries"). Either these sections need to have that information removed from them, or the sections in question need to be deleted until information relevant to the upcoming (2008) CGI animated series is available. - k1darkknight 06:56, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Produced after the film was a failure

Dee Bradley Baker

3D Format

TFN Update

I posted in the sources the link to a new TFN article, about the series, in the Sources section.

TFN reports: (2/7/07)

  • Currently 15 episodes in various stages of production
  • One, almost two episodes fully completed
  • Coleman to direct 5 of first 26 episodes
  • "They're looking fabulous, they're looking great..."

Episode names

I just happened to stumble onto Anthony Daniels' website today and saw this: "Just finished another recording session on Clone Wars - Chapter 11- "Destroy Malevolence". Thrilling stuff!"       • Their new layout is really annoying me. No idea on your problem unless you've got a security setting high, or are running an antivirus program that might interfere. Sometimes the site just whacked out for no good reason before, though; I still can't get the online DVD features on any of my DVDs to work. However, I have a few ripped versions of the trailer I downloaded from a forum before the links were removed. "Fire!"

During the trailer, Greivous shouts "Fire!" and we're shown a scene very familiar from RotJ - Jerjerod giving the order to fire and the laser shooting down a tube and ultimately destroying a Rebel vessel. Could it be the Confederate's "Ultimate Weapon"'s superweapon being fired? I thought it was never finished/scrapped? --Danik Kreldin 03:02, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

  • It appears to be some kind of superweapon connected with electricity. You notice the beam consists of electrical currents and the same effect is seen on damaged Venators in the next scene. VT-16 11:24, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

  • No one knows at the moment. Dave Filoni has confirmed that it isn't a B-wing starfighter, so the only vehicle currently in canon that it could be is the H-60 Tempest bomber. Adamwankenobi 22:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Timeline

So when exactly does this take place? The 'expansion of the core series' description is not illuminating. Do its episodes take place between the chapters of the original series? Will it be before? After? meanwhiles? MoffRebus 10:02, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Well Lucas has said specifically that it's not meant to be a kiddie show and shouldn't be on a kids channel. The only way I could see this happening if for some weird reason no other channel wanted to accept it, but then he would have to change the entire premisis of the show. And I think in that case that Cartoon Network would at leat be interested and could show it during Adult Swim. But yeah seriously doubt this has any truth in it all.   • Same here. Though a more likely canidate would be Fox 'cause 20th Century owns Fox Television. But that's my suggestion.

Plo Koon

The director Dave Filoni says Plo Koon gets at least 3 or 4 episodes for himself. You can check that out on www.starwars.com

Franz Oz?

According to a recent interview on Ain't It Cool News, he doesn't know anything about the project and says people shouldn't believe everything they read on the internet. So that would certainly seem to call into question the idea of him voicing Yoda, no?

2.35:1 aspect ratio

I can't comment on whether or not it's accurate to call the trailer 2.35:1, as I haven't watched it in a while now, but the assertion that this is the most common aspect ratio for modern films is totally wrong. That would be 1.85:1 (very nearly the dimensions of a 16x9 widescreen TV). Star Wars is, in fact, wider than the majority of movies being made today.

  • Took out the comment about 2.35:1 being the most common aspect ratio today. It's verifiably untrue, as you can find by a quick glance at Wikipedia. To quote, 1.81:1 is the "35 mm US and UK widescreen standard for theatrical film." 74.74.65.213 12:47, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Nickelodeon ?

Anakin is wearing the Legacy symbol

I think it is safe to say this series will be between months 20-30 of the war. Basing this off the Republic comic series, the series is between issues 67 and 69. #67 is the last comic with Skywalker as a padawan in month 18 and #69 he is a long haired knight with no signs of having his own padawan in month 30. Given that, there is no apparent contradiction with established sources. And how is his knighthood retconned to be almost immediately after Geonosis? 9'er 07:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

IMDB

Ok so the Internet Movie Database isn't a reliable source but the MTV Movie Blog is? How does that work? I see various other "fan based" websites listed as references also. When did MySpace become the official source of Star Wars news? I understand that a percentage of IMDB is submitted by fans (as is wikipedia) but it is a big enough entity that any mistakes that are made are very quickly rectified. The latest info on Samuel L. Jackson that is referenced on this page was from February. I'm sure if he were not to be credited to this film, someone on the planet Earth would have noticed it on IMDB and fixed it. I'm sorry I would just like a further explanation on why my post was deleted.

But they were right from the source; MTV conducted the interview themselves with Jackson, and the MySpace reference links directly to Randy Stradley's blog. IMDb, on the other hand, can be edited by anyone, so we can't determine the exact source. For example, IMDb had "confirmed" for months that John Hurt was playing Abner Ravenwood in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But in reality, he was a playing different character. Thank you for your explanation. If IMDB does not work then there are several other sites that would. As Drewton stated, IGN has a cast listing as well as this article published in the LA Times on May 7th, 2008 which also confirms Samuel L. Jackson's work in this movie. Would either of these serve as a reputable source?

I can't believe George Lucas said this in that LA Times article..."The Clone Wars' is a lot of fun for me, because in the normal course of the Skywalker saga, what happened during the Clone Wars is never told -- we see a little of the beginning and a little of the end, but other than that, it's skipped over." Shaak Ti and Durge

Continuity

"Continuity with the other Expanded Universe works is being taken very seriously by the series' creators, with Dave Filoni being well-versed in the Expanded Universe."

This looks like a joke now. The whole section of the article is to be rewritten to reflect one of the biggest continuity ****-ups ever. Mauser 06:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

  • This line: "Despite the original Lucasfilm statements that The Clone Wars will not supersede the original Clone Wars series in continuity, but will instead expand upon what the original series established" needs a better source. The TV Guide article doesn't quote anyone saying that it wouldn't contradict the earlier series. I'm pretty sure that was said at one point, so there must be a better source out there. When I was watching the premiere with my little brother, more than half of the show was STUPID, FRICKING COMMERCIALS. Remove apperances section

Yes, that's what I'm suggesting. If there are indeed about 100 episodes planned, it will quickly overgrow to ridiculous size (basically it already has). The appearances sections of separate episodes should be enough. Mauser 05:00, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Again I propose to purge appearances section of this page altogether. It attracts fanon assumptions and individual episodes' articles list the appearances quite nice already. Mauser 02:38, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

R7 and R6 units

Plo Koon's droid and Ahsoka's droids are R7's and Kit Fisto's is R6 so maybe those unit's werent made after the battle of endor after all since everything that George Lucas does is considered highest canonical. Also why is it that Plo Koons droid is R7-F5 instead of R4-F5 and Kits R6-H5 rather then R4-H5.--Butters4115 23:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Also, Ahsoka said the R3s were new. Then why is there an R7 available? I think this may have mean a Lucasfilm screwup, but I don't know. -RandomBattleDroid

JarJar Binks Recast

Now in the lastest episode that recently aired tonight, JarJar's voice sounded different from Admed Best's voice. Someone told me over at /co/, after a quick visit to starwars.com, JarJar has been recasted and there is a new voice actor that does his voice. Where can we find all of the quotes that they have been using as an introduction to every chapter?

Season One Finale

Does anyone know of any reliable source concerning what the Season One finale will be? It might be Cargo of Doom, but since there are no sources for this, I was wondering if anybody else had a source yet. ZEM talk to me! 23:35, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Not that I'm aware of; the only real source giving us any info is this article on Starwars.com, which only states that it will air on March 20; there isn't any other source that confirms any more info (such as the episode name or if it's a special feature) as far as I'm aware of. Phase 2

      • In a lot of sources, the clones used their Phase 1 armor much further into the war, some all the way to the end. So while the show jumps around in the timeline, it's still sticking with the previous canon sources. Demos Traxen 22:11, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

The Clone Wars: Clone Commandos

In the Article it say's "The Clone Wars: Clone Commandos (presumably containing the episodes Rookies, Downfall of a Droid, Duel of the Droids and Bombad Jedi) is known". But i dont think they would release "Bombad jedi" without"Cloak of Darkness" and "Lair of Grievous".--Butters4115 12:00, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Other Jedi?

Ok, so far in the series we've seen the likes of Plo Koon, Aaylaa, Kit Fisto, and Luminara. I was wondering if we know anything about any possible appearances by Shaak Ti, Saesee Tiin, Ki-Adi-Mundi, or any of the lesser known Jedi like them. Where could I find out? Normally I look here, but nothing new so far. If anyone has any idea on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks Darthkam 20:29, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Main Characters

Is there actually a list of Clone Wars series music? It's said that Kevin Kiner wrote it, but is it the one we can hear in the CLone Wars Movie? I believe the soundtrack is a bit different, so it would be nice, if new tracks would be mentioned in the article too. Neterwan 19:41, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

UK Broadcast

Decoded on July 10th, 2009

  • You're right, that is kind of odd. I can't find "Dooku Captured" decoded either. They must have uploaded the wrong file or something. Time Line

Alright I'm confused as to what year this takes place. Other places say that it takes place in 22BBY but I thought Anakin didn't become a Jedi Knight until 20BBY. jedi_master425 July 18, 2009

    • Souldn't we help Leeland by writing possibilities in BtS sections of episodes, like "...this episode should happen after x but before y, because of..." IMO Leeland Chee is only one person, and maybe he doesn't recognize every single thing in the series. A community could make lesser maybe no errors.         • This series really clashed with the previous stabilished timeline, the aforementioned knighthood of Anakin, that should have happened only after the mission to Vjun(20 BBY), his scar, the mandalorians contradictions and I bet there is more. Cast and Characters Change

In my opinion, in the article where is says, "Cast and Caracters", and then it lists who Dee Bradley Baker plays, instead of listing all of the clone officers that he plays, then all the other caracters, then clone troopers, take out all the officers and say, all clones, then the other charaters. I'd like to do something about it, but the article is semi-protected. Tom Bergeron

In the Good morning america segment some month ago, Tom Bergeron visited the Skywalker Ranch to interview George about the Clone Wars. There he also got his head laser scanned and made into computerized form and put on a uniform like the one Yularen has. Lucas even named him Petrie Rob.
