Opera versus Ballet

So... I don't mean to be a nerd here, but "opera" and "ballet" are two completely different things. Ballet companies don't have the ability to put on operas; opera companies, likewise, don't put on ballets. It kind of stinks that people don't make this distinction anymore. Squid Lake obviously is a play on Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, which is strictly a ballet. So... is this a ballet being performed at an opera house? That would make the most sense, but we need to clarify this. Cutch 06:10, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Well, they don't sing during ballets and don't swim in huge water-filled transparent spheres, either. :-) What was shown in the movie was an art form we don't have - with elements of opera, ballet and synchronous swimming. Bontchev 07:32, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

If you are familiar with the Palais Garnier in Paris, it has incorporated ballet into its opera shows in the past. The opera house now is strictly ballet. So it could either be one act from the show, an En'tre act or an old opera house converted to ballet.

Floating Female Mon Cals?

There appear to be female mon cals (they have long fins) outside of the globes, yet not falling. does it use repulsorlifts to hold them (and the globes) up, or jetpack devices, or what?66.42.173.161 12:20, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

Trivia section in the Canon article

In the Canon article for Squid Lake they have a short trivia section noting the likely inspiration for the title being "Swan Lake." Is there any reason this shouldn't be copied over to the Legends article as well? Dominic Snyder (talk) 22:39, December 19, 2015 (UTC)

  • I saw that the trivia section from the canon article has now been removed. If that edit was a good one, then ignore my previous question, obviously. Dominic Snyder (talk) 22:59, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
    • Yep, I removed it; Wookieepedia's policies don't support unsourced info/trivia. If a source does show up, then it can be re-added. Cwedin(talk) 23:02, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
