Old talk

What timeframe are we dealing with here exactly? -- Riffsyphon1024 06:04, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

  • The dates used in this article are not the BBY calander, correcting them from the *Star Wars Timeline Gold--Eion 06:13, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
  • What do you mean about the timeframe? --Gladius
    • He was thrown by your use of the GR calendar, and was asking in what era these events occured.--Eion 06:33, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

Is there yet a consensus on what dating system will be used? I prefer the Great Resynchronization for in-universe articles, as it sounds more 'official.' I noticed his birthdate was changed to the Battle of Yavin system, which is in my opinion one that carries much less realism with it. --Gladius

  • The official dating system of Lucasfilm is the BBY/ABY calendar. Every back cover chronology is in the BBY/ABY system. The official system by consensus at SWW is probably BBY\ABY. It makes a certain sense IU if you remember that the Rebellion won, and probably instituted a calendar that marked their first great achievement as its center, what they say as the turning of the tide, the destruction of the first Death Star. In addition, IU/OU is a rarely used concept here, though often fun, it is difficult to maintain a clear division in articles. I use suspension of disbelief, which has always worked fine for me.--Eion 06:33, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
  • More importantly, the average, run-of-the-mill Star Wars fan has no idea the Great Resynchronization dates even exist, let alone what they mean. They're not going to be informative to anyone but the most hardcore fans who've read Holonet News or Galaxywide NewsNets. We should stick with the BBY/ABY system; it even has in-universe validity, as can be seen in The Essential Chronology. JSarek 18:56, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
And even those who have heard of the Great Resynchronization rarely use the dating system, since we're all so accustomed to placing the Battle of Yavin at Year 0. Yes, from an in-universe standpoint it makes little sense, but we, of course, aren't in that universe, and so we should use the most acceptable and easy to use dating system. I don't think many are going to bother to convert all the dates from the Yavin timeline to the GR system. Kwenn 19:01, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Understood. I still prefer the GR one, but what y'all say makes sense. Ah, well. Damn those impudent rebels. [EDIT: Forgot to log in] -- Gladius 23:31, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

Nit picking...

Actor is the PC term for both male and female performers, but I won't complain. ;-) --SparqMan 00:15, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Marriage

It says here that Fel started dating Wynssa after the Battle of Yavin, then proposed marriage "around the time of the Battle of Yavin." Sounds like an oops to me.Kuralyov 02:20, 13 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Baron

This is going to sound stupid, but is the name "Baron" a title given to him, making his real name Soontir Fel, or is his first name actually Baron? If it is a title, then shouldn't a remark be made as to how he came to have this title?--SOCL 03:15, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • It's a title. QuentinGeorge 03:19, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • I see. How did he come to have this title? He is very apparently not a noble by birth...--SOCL 03:35, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)
      • Apparently granted by the Empire. I don't know the specifics. QuentinGeorge 03:57, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)
        • The Making of Soontir Fel shows when he was given it (I recall him receiving some mace as a sign of the title). --SparqMan 04:01, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • Related, what sort of convention does his title follow? Is it Baron Soontir Fel, or Soontir Baron Fel?--SOCLcomm 23:22, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Endor

Was Fel at Endor? The SW CCG seems to place him there (in command of Saber Squadron), but doesn't that conflict with his defection to the Alliance? --SparqMan 18:46, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • I believe he was at Endor. And I don't think it conflicts with his defection—I always thought he defected after Endor. Admiral J. Nebulax 18:47, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)

He defected after the Battle of Brentaal. --SparqMan 18:59, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • Oops. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:21, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • No oops. Looking at the comics, that was after Endor. So it all works out. My bad. --SparqMan 22:58, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Eye

If Fel refused an eye replacement while under the Empire of the Hand, why does he have one as an Assistant Syndic? Also, if the Empire of the Hand had limited resources, why would its joining the Imperial Remnant turn the tide of the Galactic Civil War? -- SFH 21:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Picture Caption

The picture of Fel under the capture and defection section of his article has him marked as a colonel when his rank insignia is obviously that of a Brigadier or Brigadier General. At the lowest he could be a HIGH colonel but that insignia generally has four code cylinders, this has two, one more than General Veers who was a Major General. It should be changed. Commander Black

  • No, it shouldn't, since he is specifically referred to as colonel numerous times in that comic. Kuralyov 23:03, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

37th Imperial Fighter Wing, not 137th

37th

Dates

The article says Fel participated in the Battle of Nar Shaddaa, in 4 BBY. However, it also says he was transferred to the Prefsbelt Academy in 5 BBY. This is impossible because he served in the fleet before he taught at the academy. 70.177.34.161 09:12, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Funyun

best in the galaxy?

in the intro it says he could be the best pilot in the galaxy but couldnt wedge or luke outfly him? Ugluk 22:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

    • This isn't the place for this kind of talk and im gonna change the intro a bit..Jedi Dude 22:22, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
      • Technically, Soontir would have been better than Luke and Wedge originally because Fel was trained at the Imperial Academy and Luke and Wedge don't seem to have had a lot of experience in their early fighter pilot years. Return of the Jedi

  • The image of Fel at Endor, and the Appearances section, indicate that Fel appeared in RotJ; however, IIRC, that image was created by Decipher for their Death Star II set, and never appeared in the film itself. Am I mistaken? If not, these elements should be changed. jSarek 00:49, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Plus, do we even see any Imperial pilots in their fighters during the Battle of Endor? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 10:57, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Yeah, you see a helmeted dude ^^ - lalala_la
        • Turr Phennir is basically the only TIE Pilot seen in a fighter and with a helmet on in that battle. --JS-4422 12:32, October 16, 2016 (UTC)
          • Never mind. --JS-4422 12:35, October 16, 2016 (UTC)

Pictures

I changed Fel's picture to the most recent image of him, in accordance with policy (I also prefer it to the face-full-of-squiggly-lines look that he had going, but that's not really important). If it's decided that the old infobox image was genuinely superior, then it can be changed back, no problem. However, I would ask that my other change (swapping the pics of him in the X-wing and him with Wynssa) be preserved. It puts both pictures in better contect, IMHO, especially the X-wing one. Havac 21:05, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

  • He looks.....exactly like Bail Organa +_+ - lalala_la

Fel's Day

Is this really correct? Logically, the holiday should have gone with the Empire, shouldn't it? Why would a New Republic planet salute an Imperial oppressor? Evir Daal 11:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

  • It was probably celebrated up until it was taken by the Republic. --Danik Kreldin 07:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Which was right after the original celebration. Is it then correct to say that it was observed "every year" in the article? Evir Daal 09:05, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Card Game

As the picture of him in Tie FIghter Gear is from the Card Game, im going to add it as a source. If someone doesn't like it, feel free to remove with justification.

Bloodstripes?

I remember reading somewhere that the red stripe on Fel's uniform and TIE was supposed to symbolize a bloodstripe, can anyone varify this? Fel is Corellian, so it could be a possibility, but I'd also like to know how it came to be applied to all 181st ships (unit marking, perhaps?).Tocneppil 09:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

  • That's correct, it's a unit marking used to indicate the pilot has shot down ten or more enemy starfighters. Shock Wave 16:39, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Galaxies

Where does the good Baron appear in Star Wars Galaxies? I've never played. --TIEDefenderPilot 00:28, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Thrawn as the alien

I'd be deathly surprised if nobody had mentioned this before, but the unknown alien admiral who devised the battle plan at Derra IV was Thrawn. Well, it LOOKS like Thrawn, but unless there are any other Chiss admirals in the empire who were later carted off to the unknown regions (with a knack for tactics to boot), I think we can safely say it's him. I just thought it odd this was never mentioned. -62.56.76.46 19:58, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Navy Taining

does anybody know what he did while he was in training other than play gravball? is there any more information about what training at Carida was like in general?-another long lost Solo cousin (Nov 19)

Succession box

I see that this FA survived the Inq review, however I noticed that the succession box titles are unsourced. Please fix. Hanzo Hasashi 16:43, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
