Even piell's lightsaber

isn't even piell's lightsaber a shoto since it matches his stature.(Mrjosh1994 (talk) 04:13, January 28, 2019 (UTC))

Yoda?

What's the source for Yoda's lightsaber being a Shoto? The article only gives AotC as a reference... I was under the impression that shotos were Jar Kai specific. - Approved Trash Sabine Starbird(Comlink) 11:25, March 31, 2020 (UTC)

Change of crytal color

although he substituted the crystals inside for blue ones; a change that he wrly remarked had "improved them"
- Cite from "History/Clone Wars"

Since the trailer only reveals "there as good as new" it's unclear what Skywalker did to them. Following the common opion from canon the color of a lightsaber relects the mindset of the person who built them. Maybe this expands to "whoever last modified the sabers". Therefore they would have become blue due to Anakin modifing them not due to changing the crystals.

This is also written like this in the article about Ashoka's Lightsabers:

While the lightsabers were in the custody of the Jedi, Skywalker took the opportunity to do some tinkering with them, with the blades becoming blue as a result.

Blade Length?

Is it ever stated what the standard blade length for a shoto saber is? Cause I have the toy version of Yoda's saber they put out and it has a blade length of 60cm from tip to emitter, given it's an offhand backup weapon for those who like to use duel wielding techniques that puts it pretty firmly in the real life equivalent of a wakizashi which can range from 30cm to 60cm..I've heard many times that the Jedi were based somewhat on samurai which would mean the length of the blade makes sense when paired with a regular saber as that would be a Daisho set of a katana and a wakizashi..if used alone like Yoda does it would make the shoto also a kodachi since from what research I've done on real swords a kodachi is 60cm long nowadays as a set length and as I've seen it put by some that all wakizashi are kodachi but not all kodachi are wakizashi...a little confusing but "kodachi" does translate to "small sword" after all so maybe that's where that comes from.--Kyuu19 (talk) 10:19, October 8, 2020 (UTC)
