Dead?

We don't see her leave with the others at the end of the episode. Dangerdan97 18:22, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

According to Hondo Ohnaka's page, she was killed. I think so, too. Z-sword 05:40, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

rumis death

did u not see her get blown off the roof and her eyes roll back? Unsigned comment by 99.242.114.248 (talk • contribs)

  • Ah, yes, eyes rolling back. The "universal symbol of blargh I'm dead", since no living creature can orient their eyes in such a fashion... Dangerdan97 17:13, March 30, 2010 (UTC)
    • We'll have to wait for the Episode Guide to hopefully spell it out that she died. But so far it's pretty clear she's gone, because she was blown away from the top of that house, didn't show up afterwars, and mostly because Sugi says in the end: "I seem to find myself light on company", which indicates a member of her crew is gone.

      • And right after the aforementioned statement, the shot pans back and shows the Jedi and three of the four bounty hunters, with Rumi being noticeably absent. SpartHawg948 04:30, April 3, 2010 (UTC)
        • Her death still isn't confirmed, and this page is not the place for speculation on the subject. CC7567 (talk) 06:29, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't see her eyes roll back. if i remember correctly, hey eyes opened wide, she jumped, the blast hit, she went flying and landed on her back with her eyes closed. also, what is to prevent Frenk from being able to orient their eyes that way?208.102.123.1 20:28, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • True, her eyes were closed; however, as the others said, the shots we see and the dialogue strongly suggest Rumi died.--R.Werner 00:49, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Not to add conjecture, but perhaps Frenk, like Whiphids, can enter a healing trance. i can appreciate your POV on it, though.208.102.123.1 23:26, April 18, 2010 (UTC) When she says she feels light on company, she might be referring to Embo's injury. He was scripted to die in the episode, right? User:Grand Moff Elvin

eye

Does she have a lazy eye or something? would this be worth mentioning?208.102.123.1 20:28, April 9, 2010 (UTC) You can clearly see, her left eye is half closed, all the time, and i believe it has a scar.208.102.123.1 23:25, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Hello? why is everyone ignoring me? she has a half-closed eye all the time, and it bears a scar. is it injured or lazy or what? should we mention it?66.42.173.161 11:39, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • You have more or less answered your own question. a scar across the eye would be an indicator of injury. It is probably worth mention.--R.Werner 17:17, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but it seems not to want me to edit. could you try, please? thanks.66.42.173.161 11:30, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Name speculation

I added a contribution which speculated about the source of the name Paramita (Pāramitā is a word meaning 'perfection' or 'completeness'. In Buddhism the pāramitās are the perfection of certain virtues by an individual as a means of purifying karma on the way to enlightenment).

but it was removed since it was "Not notable if it's not a confirmed connection". However, similar unsourced speculation is present on Yoda's page which suggests four possible sources for his name from several different languages. So someone might want to do something about that as well since it appears to be unconfirmed.

I would also like to point out that it was probably George Lucas himself who came up with the name Paramita since it was given to the character of Slide Paramita who was in an earlier draft of Episode I.

There are several names in the prequels that may have origins in Eastern religions including Shmi, Shaak Ti, Padme, Rishi, adn you could also include Yoda.

George Lucas's own article states "he would eventually come to identify strongly with the Eastern religious philosophies he studied and incorporated into his movies" and that he described his religion as "Buddhist Methodist".

So considering those things, I feel there is a strong possibility that the name Paramita comes from the Buddhist word. It is not confirmed, yet this is the kind of information that may be of interest to people who want to read more widely about Star Wars. If such information is not brought to their attention then their understanding about the influences on SW will be poorer for it. I would suggest that is why Yoda's page has such speculation and why the information still persists. Such information may be unconfirmed, but if the speculation is sensible then it is indeed notable because it makes people aware that speculation exists, and that such names were perhaps not just created from nowhere. --Captain Yossarian 20:07, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

  • Possible ≠ confirmed. Placing in the article implies that it is confirmed, which it is not, and keeping it there regardless qualifies as speculation and original research. CC7567 (talk) 22:37, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

Her Fate

We need to change it to either: she is dead, or her fate is unknown. We did not see her again after she was shot by a tank, that either implies death or grievous injury. Maybe we didn't see her actual final moment. But either we can know she is dead, because that is definately implied, it does not have to stare you in the face to be true. Or we could put that her fate is unknown, because we do not see her again, hence we don't know she is still alive. If there are no comments for 2 weeks I will change it to the unknown one for now. 78.147.206.146 20:36, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • I fully agree. I understand (even if I don't agree) if you don't want to outright say she died, since there is no official confirmation of this. However, there is no official confirmation that she "was badly wounded but made it through the battle and won". That's much more of a baseless assumption than saying she died. At least every evidence we have point towards her death: She gets shot, falls off a roof, lands unconsious, is never seen again and Sugi says she now has some free space on the ship for the Jedi. If you don't want to acknoweldge her death, at least leave it open-ended. Gry Sarth 20:59, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
