Green Pip?
The green pip reference is citing the Lando comics. It should be expounded on in the article (who wore it? What was their rank and branch?) given that's a departure from the long-standing red-blue-gold system.169.226.168.122 19:15, October 31, 2016 (UTC)
- The only known person to wear a green rank plaque is Pasqual, who was a Commander onboard the Sienar Fleet Systems Orbital Shipyard CC-24. Feel free to expand the article yourself, but there isn't really much to put as we don't know why his plaque was green, or what branch he was part of. - Tommy-Macaroni

- But is it actually green, or just blue and under unusual lighting?74.209.21.67 02:36, December 16, 2016 (UTC)
In-universe explanation for different rank plaques
Though the "in-universe" explanation for the difference in rank plaques is mentioned in the "Behind the Scenes" section as pending from Pablo, I believe it is noted in some recent source material (the Rogue One Ultimate Visual Guide?) that the fact that the design of the Imperial insignia are sector-specific hence why there is non-uniform rank insignia throughout the various source materials. Someone would need to confirm but should this be noted somewhere in the article? --SUPCOM0356 (talk) 03:39, February 27, 2017 (UTC)
- You're right. I think it's more like an unsatisfying handwave than an actual explanation, but that still should be mentioned in the article. I added it. ;-) --Lelal Mekha

Incomplete
I was browsing this area and I noticed that the Galactic Empire section was incomplete. You are missing commodore and much more. Can someone else please change this because I am not familiar with editing articles.
Thanks

- My bad, there is commodore But there is no Lieutenant Commander, and you could add captain of the line.Jtmk1 (talk) 03:22, October 1, 2017 (UTC)
- On this site there are certain guidelines we have to follow before we can add info. I'm fairly sure there isn't a Canon source for captain of the line or lt. commander, so they can't be added. Also, resistance is here. - Tommy-Macaroni

- Star Wars: Thrawn? And it also says on the Imperial Navy page. And also, why doesn't someone create an Imperial Command Insignia page, there is one for the Resistance and also for the Alliance to Restore the Republic--Jtmk1 (talk) 22:05, October 1, 2017 (UTC)
- I'm afraid you don't quite understand what the matter is: we do know there are more ranks than that, but that doesn't mean we know (as in canonically) the insignia for all of them. --Lelal Mekha

- I do understand. It says on http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rank_insignia_of_the_Galactic_Empire/old_version the rank plaque. Not sure if it is Canon though.--Jtmk1

Commander Plaque
- Isn't the commander two red over two blue? Because an unidentified officer on board the Imperial Interdictor was referred too as commander. And he had two red and two blue. JS-4422 (talk) 23:09, October 4, 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about the post-ANH ranks, but in the ANH era ones, the commander rank insignia is (using Praji as an example) four blue and two red in that order. Kooshmeister (talk)
Captain with a single row of six yellow pips?
There is a mention in the article that a Captain could also use a single row of six yellow pips, and the source of that information is listed as ‘A New Hope’. However, the only two people in the movie with that particular rank badge (Hurst Romodi and Moradmin Bast) are Generals. Is there someone that I’m missing? Captain with Four Red Squares
Captain Bragg's rank should be noted on this page. I would add it myself, but I do not know how to insert references. 😕 —Unsigned comment by ClassicSpaceman (talk • contribs)
Lieutenant with Four Blue Squares vs. a Captain with Four Blue Squares
Okay, so it's canon that Pterro (Krennic's aide) is a captain. His insignia is four blue squares. Fine. Problem: Childsen also has four blue squares and is consistently said to be a lieutenant. So which does four blue squares mean (assuming it means anything anymore)? Captain or lieutenant? This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Kooshmeister (talk) 11:57, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
