Sith bioweapon?

What is the source for the "Sith bioweapon" info? - Sikon 07:54, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

RAKghoul?

Something sounded familiar about this.

why do the rakghouls have the the name of the builders (the "rak") in their name? is this a possible leftover of a cut idea of the rakghoul disease being the disease that destroyed the Rakatan empire? (a plague?)

That's what I thought too, but has there been anything cannon? Flag-Waving American Patriot 03:34, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Probably not. Unit 8311 17:49, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Vector

Since the rakghouls appear prominently in the recent artwork related to SW:Vector, is it possible the threat posed by these creatures and their disease will feature into all four eras featured in the storyline? VT-16 17:11, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

BTS

Unless I'm mistaken, doesn't either the KOTOR Handbook or JvS:TEGttF say that people afflicted with rakghoul disease actually do transform instantaneously in a flash of white light and fog or whatever else those effects entail, thus relegating them beyond the realm of non-canon game mechanics? 69.210.197.233 18:45, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes. The Undercity article in the KOTOR Handbook states that "the bite of a Rakghoul eventually transforms its victim into another Rakghoul in a blinding, otherworldly flash." Muuuuuurgh 02:51, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  • This was seen in the comic that was released. It didn't look like a flash of light so much as a sudden, spontaneous mutation. (Page 15, last 2 panels)

Zombies

These are kinda Star Wars zombies. Maybe this is worth a mention --Tom rules 00:17, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, but there are other, more zombie like creatures in the EU, the monsters from Death Troopers to name an obvious example. --He brings the pain 22:55, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

Sithspawn?

Would the rakghouls count as a Sithspawn Because they was created by a sith lord? I would put it in myself but im just not sure.

Similarities to the Krippin Virus

Even though I Am Legend was a recent movie released last year, it was based on a book written by a Mr. Matheson in ~1954. Do you suppose that the Rakghoul disease was inspired by how the Krippin Virus turned the infected into mutants? There appear to be parallels here. Hopefully, these parallels can be sourced to add to the article. --70.179.185.102 06:26, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Rakghouls in old West End Game Sourcebooks?

(First topic ever added, so be easy...) Ok I am really trying to find some information on the Rakghouls that apparently no longer exists. I remember years ago, way before the Knights of the Old Republic Video games, that the Rakghouls were on Coruscant in their lower city. I remember very clearly one of my friends telling me that the lower city of Coruscant was infested with creatures called Rakghouls that were like the Star Wars version of "Zombies". Not that they were undead, but that they could non-rakghouls into rakghouls. This bit of information apparently has disappeared, and I cannot remember what sourcebook it was in. The year that I first heard of the rakghouls was either 1996 or 1997. I know it was in one of the West End Games line of sourcebooks for the D6 RPG.

Now I know a lot of you are going to think I am crazy, (I do too), but either this information has been retconned, or forgotten. Does anyone remember anything about this?

Semi-sentient?

When someone has the Muur Talisman, the Rakghouls are semi-sentient; using weapons and vehicles. Should I put their sentience as "Non-sentient/Semi-sentient"? Thanks. Dmrain 17:59, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • I also noticed in SWTOR that the Rakghouls can be seen as at least semi-sentient. On the Republic side of Taris, they can be seen retaining a few of their former memories. 184.56.161.204 15:30, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

Infection of Revan and his crew

I want to know why Revan and his crew never transform into rakghouls after becoming infected, because the "poison" just wears off over time. Is it because they are just lucky enough to not get bitten? BlackStar: Envoy of the middle 19:54, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

It's Gameplay And Story Segregation, plot-wise you don't even get the poision that lowers your health, you just get hit by the Rakghouls, presumably using your skills to dodge them if they try to bite you, IIRC. Manga Maniac 21:35, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Murr's death

This article mentions in passing that Murr was killed by his jealous rivals, but Karness Muur says they never succeeded. Could someone familiar with the sources clear this up? DarthKnah  Talk 21:49, July 14, 2016 (UTC)
