In The Force Awakens?
Now that the Raider-Class Corvette is canon, I went back to watch the Millennium Falcon Jakku desert chase in The Force Awakens and in one shot there appears to be a wrecked ship whose rear looks extremely similar to the Raider-Class Corvette among the other wrecked Imperial warships, and additionally, thanks to the Battlefront II trailer that was leaked, we see a Raider-Class Corvette around the timeline of the Battle of Endor, and referenced in the novel Lost Stars in that this ship participated in the Battle of Jakku. Based on this information and wreckage that is EXTREMELY similar to the rear of a Raider Corvette, it would be safe in my opinion if we updated the Battle of Jakku, as well as the appearances section on The Force Awakens movie. Previously on the Legends counterpart of this article another user also mentioned that there was a wrecked Raider-Class Corvette, yet because it was not confirmed canon, no action could have been taken. --Vitus Infinitus (talk) 23:13, April 12, 2017 (UTC)
- I don't recall this ship being mentioned in Lost Stars, but if it is, we should definitely update the Battle of Jakku article. - Cwedin(talk) 23:32, April 12, 2017 (UTC)
- Someone in the talk page of the legends version of the article said that it referenced it, though I'm not sure how, we should look more into it and make changes if necessary.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 23:35, April 12, 2017 (UTC)
- In Lost Stars, we only have this (emphasis is mine): "If [Ciena Ree] could convince Grand Moff Randd to split up the fleet, to attack the rebel star cruisers from multiple directions, maybe even to send one of the twenty-gun raiders into the atmosphere to support the TIE fighters battling near the planet's surface—at the very least they'd shake the rebels up." Things is, we can't be sure the term "twenty-gun raider" actually refers to the Raider-class corvette. --Lelal Mekha

- That's true, maybe we should wait until we receive more information about the Raider-Class Corvette, and whether or not it participated in the Battle of Jakku because if it is confirmed that it participated in that battle, and we have the wreckage in The Force Awakens that looks daringly similar, then we can make changes.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 23:53, April 12, 2017 (UTC)
- Do you have a timestamp for when the Raider-class is in TFA? Or could you perhaps upload an image of it? That would be greatly appreciated. - Tommy-Macaroni

- I tried to upload a picture I have though it doesn't show up maybe because it doesn't meet upload requirements? Anyway the time stamp is 00:35:40. There you can see at least one wrecked hull that looks like the rear of the Raider-Class Corvette.--Vitus Infinitus (talk)
- Here? You may be right... - Tommy-Macaroni

- Yes that's the one!--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 15:10, April 13, 2017 (UTC)
- I say we wait until Star Wars Battlefront II comes out, or more info that indicates its participation, in the Battle of Jakku if it was indeed there, then we can make appropriate changes to the necessary pages.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 02:25, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
- Easier solution... tweet the story-group members about it. I'm sure one of them will confirm whether it's a Raider-class ship or not. --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 21:10, July 25, 2017 (UTC)
- Just asked Matt Martin on twitter and he says, "It sure does look like it but I would be surprised if ILM made a Raider model... but you never know!" Here's a link to that tweet: https://twitter.com/missingwords/status/892778801335156737 So what should we make of this? --Vitus Infinitus (talk) 18:43, August 3, 2017 (UTC)
- Its still unclear if it is one. We could add a BTS, but I think that's all we can do--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 18:49, August 3, 2017 (UTC)
- Matt Martin (@missingwords) says maybe and you're using that as a reference? I'm certain this wikia has higher standards for references than wishful thinking. Plus, since when is this kind of speculation been allowed in canon articles? I know the ship was at the battle, but those three holes in the back of the crash debris don't exactly match the Raider so they could be from almost anything. It seems some of you have over active imaginations, and this speculations doesn't belong in a cannon article. 50.70.234.111 09:58, September 29, 2017 (UTC)
- That is why it is in the BTS section and not in the canon sections of the article. Also saying that something is possible or likely is not exactly the definition of speculation or wishful thinking.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 13:05, September 29, 2017 (UTC)
