Merge with Force Empathy?

The two seem to do the exact same thing.DarthMRN 13:40, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

They are very similar. However, empathy seems limited to impressions while psychometry often took the form of emotion and visual impressions. Maybe I missed something though. Mrobviousjosh 07:29, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II?

I don't remember seeing anything like this in the game. Are you sure it wasn't one of the novelizations instead? --68.44.13.236 05:43, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Also, this is the edit that added it, for the record. It looks legitimate except for double-misnaming the source. --68.44.13.236 17:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Only Kiffar?

In Sacrifice, Bardan Jusik posed as a Kiffar and managed to read the stone, despite being a human. Does this mean that the force can allow this ability too?

  • Personally, the description of Psychometry sounds a little like the old WEG Force power Postcognition. There the user had to be able to touch an object the object in order to possibly get a sense of past events the object was present for. If they do exceptionally well using the power then it's as if they were there themselves able to experince the event with all their senses perfectly well. If they do fairly well using the power, then they get a decent sense of the event with most of their sense although the primary sense (whichever one would give the most info of the event, tyipcally sight but it could be hearing if there's a reason why sight would provide a lot of info like say being in a dark place with very little light) is a bit dulled so it's like looking at something through binoculars that aren't focused in on it very well. And if they just use it well then everything is dulled. Kinda like watching TV with some much static you can barely see or hear what's going on. Poor use of the power means not being able to get a sense of past events at all.

If it is basically the same thing, then it should be open to more than Kiffar cause postcognition was a power any Force-user could learn.-annonymous 2/11/10 2:40 AM
