Pollo

His name is not Pollo, it's Polio - or so The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook claims. Please someone recheck this. -- Sol (discuss) 07:47, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

  • You are right. I've updated it. I am grateful. Bows.--Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:11, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Excuse me? I've got the book open in front of me right now, and it's Pollo, in every place I look. jSarek 08:13, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
      • I've got the book open too - and it says Polio to me, just like it said to Skippy Farlstendoiro I guess. So if not one of us can't read, this discrepancy may be a matter for the "behind the scenes"-section or whatever. Although I'm german I can discem a letter as well as you can, even inside english sources. ^^ -- Sol (discuss) 13:17, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
        • Do you guys have a physical copy of the book, or a PDF off of the Internet? The PDF version I have has had an OCR overlay done, which has "corrected" the spelling of the word to Polio. In the physical book, the name is unmistakably "Pollo." jSarek 20:04, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
          • Yeah, mine is a PDF... I couldn't have known about this, sorry for the mess. -- Sol (discuss) 02:24, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
            • Not a problem. Just something to remember, though; if a PDF doesn't use the actual page images, it needs to be treated with a little caution. jSarek 05:43, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

According to scans the character's name is Polio (see here, pp 6-8). Sightsaber (talk) 15:40, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

  • I believe the document that you've linked to is a badly distorted version of the same PDF that caused the confusion discussed above. Those aren't true-to-the-document scans; they've replaced the text in the book with an OCR overlay that "corrected" the spelling to "Polio." I have the physical book, and it's clearly "Pollo," as shown in this photo. jSarek (talk) 09:20, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
