Nightswan's campagins
After being more than halfway done with Thrawn after reading it a second time, I believe that since many conflicts are led or involve Nevil Cygni, we should create something similar to Campaigns of Saw Gerrera's Partisans. There is the Dromedar incident, the Battle over Umbara, the Cyphar land dispute, the incident with Higher Skies Advocacy Group/ Yinchom Dojo, and the Batonn sector insurgency, along with several other incidents, all of which includes Cygni as the leader and main conspiracist of.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 02:22, November 27, 2017 (UTC)
Page Name
Should this page be renamed to Nightswan? I felt that the book made pretty clear to me at least that Nevil Cygni was just an alias he adopted for the Dromedar incident specifically and that outside of the Dromedar incident he went by Nightswan, leaving his real name unknown in canon. I feel like it would be better to name this page after the alias he prefers/uses professionally, instead of just a name he uses once for one job --UmbraWitchAlraune (talk) 07:00, February 16, 2018 (UTC)
- Have to concur. When Eli Vanto meets him on Batonn during the Battle of Scrim Island, he insists on being called Nightswan rather than Cygni. He is only called Cygni in the passages relating to the Dromedar incident. In the rest of the book, he is referred to as Nightswan. That implies that Cygni is an alias and his real name is unknown. I'm presently working on a revised version of the article. Andykatib 08:48, February 16, 2018 (UTC)
- I got in touch with Timothy Zahn via Facebook and he says that Nightswan's true identity was deliberately left blank in the book. Since he is only referred to as Nevil Cygni in the Dromedar chapters, we should use his more commonly used name: Nightswan. Perhaps moving it to Nightswan (pseudonym) would be a good idea. I'm busy packing up now to return to university in Auckland. So, anyone else can feel free to move the article to its new name. Andykatib 08:36, February 18, 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure if that could be used as source, especially since the outcome of the recent CT "Social media posts from Lucasfilm Story Group members or Star Wars authors are not valid independent sources of in-universe information. The only social media posts allowed as independent sources of in-universe information are from official Star Wars brand accounts, such as the official Star Wars Twitter and Facebook page. Posts from Story Group members and authors may be used in out-of-universe pages and page sections as needed, such as to document authorial intent or background development." I don't know if the authorial intent will be evidence enough to move the page--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 09:30, February 18, 2018 (UTC)
- In that case, it may be wise to keep the page at Nevil Cygni and then state that Nightswan is a pseudonym. Thanks very much for your advice. Have been working on a draft version of the Nevil Cygni article. Hope to complete the draft by the next weekend. Andykatib 09:43, February 18, 2018 (UTC)
