Homeworld

Currently, we have two conflicting sources relating to the homeworld of the Neimoidians. StarWars-DatabankII Cato Neimoidia in the Databank (backup link) claims that Cato Neimoidia is the neimoidians homeworld, while Ultimate Factivity Collection: Star Wars claims Neimoidia is their homewold.AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 03:56, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Neimoidia vs Cato Neimoidia

I don't know if it was already there before, but the Databank entry for Cato Neimoidia now calls it a Neimoidian colony world. This actually allows plain Neimoidia to be their true homeworld, so I have taken the liberty to remove the "conflict" banner. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:07, July 21, 2015 (UTC)

  • Coolio, nice work Lelal. When I first added the tag, Cato Neimoidia was still the homeworld. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 10:18, July 21, 2015 (UTC)

Insectoid Species

I am trying to be civil in the following passage, but I realize that some of what I say may seem harsh. This is not my intention, but I couldn't figure out how to reword it in a less harsh way. I genuinely wish to understand the logic behind this (and other similar) decisions.

I fail to see how this information is "unverified". I don't necessarily disagree. It just doesn't make sense to me that you can keep information about how they "spent the first seven years of their lives as ... maggot-like larvae" and can't easily conclude from that that they qualify as an insectoid sentient species. I know that they are humanoid, but humanoid is merely a description of shape, not kingdom. Has there been a species that starts out as a larva that isn't an insectoid? Or rather, is there a species that starts out as a larva that is explicitly stated to be something other than insectoid? Doesn't the fact that they are larva before metamorphosizing into their adult form make insect-like enough to be considered insectoid? I understand that there is nothing currently canon that explicitly states that Neimoidians are insectoid, but if you don't allow the category here with as much evidence as there is, then you should at least take it off of the Sugi. That is just as much speculation (unless it is explicitly stated as such in Tarkin in which case you should change the citation on the insectoid page). The databank entry merely states that their power suits have insectoid legs, not that the sugi themselves are insectoid. ("Many Sugi wear "power suits" with four giant insectoid legs that more than double their height and make them physically imposing.").

Neimoidia colony in Thrawn

The last paragraph in History section speaks about a colony of Neimoidians that is supposed to appear in Thrawn. I have not read the first trilogy but I recently finished the new Canon book and I don't recall anything even similar. Is this maybe something that belongs in the Legends section instead of the Canon? Unsigned comment by 84.87.143.69 (talk • contribs)

  • It's on page 369 in the novel when Thrawn is talking to Nightswan, it definitely should stay on the canon page --Lewisr (talk) 10:53, August 30, 2017 (UTC)
  • This is true, my bad. I wish I bought digital copies to be able do quick searches Aaccensi (talk) 10:51, September 1, 2017 (UTC)
    • No problem! Sometimes it's hard to remember where things are in books sometimes so I can see why you may have forgotten about it --Lewisr (talk) 10:52, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

Aruteous Gunnay

Why is Aruteous Gunnay not listed here? -- Banana32 I-find-this-atire-appealing 21:12, January 11, 2018 (UTC)

Near-Duros?

According to Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 52 Guide to the Galaxy: The History of Neimoidia, Neimoidians and Duros are related in the Canon (not just Legends). Should we indicate this? -- YakovChaimTzvi (talk) 17:25, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

  • Since its a canon source yes Lewisr (talk) 17:50, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
    • That's in the works. There's a lot of work to be done from those magazines. Erebus Chronus (Talk) 17:52, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
      • Thank you, @Erebus Chronus :D. I've never had access to those magazines, but from your work with them, it looks like they bridge a lot of established Legends lore into canon! -- YakovChaimTzvi (talk) 21:05, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
