sorry about forgetting to put in a source. i'm new to wiki. sorry about that.

Date

Everywhere on the site, the date of the Mission to Kashyyyk is stated as being 19 BBY. However, in the game it's stated as being "Clone Wars - Day 785", a little more than two years after the Battle of Geonosis. Since the Battle of Geonosis occured in the middle of 22 BBY, wouldn't that date the Mission to Kashyyyk as being around the middle of 20 BBY?

At the end of the game, however it shows the republic invasion being led by Yoda. The battle shown in the movie clearly occured in 19 BBY, the final year of the Clone Wars. Also, General Grevious appears twice. If this mission occured in 19 BBY, right before the outbreak of the battle shown in the movie, he would be hiding on Utapau.

I'm not familiar with any of the other EU information about the Battle of Kashyyyk, but the only explanation I can think of is that Yoda must have led the initial Republic invasion of Kashyyyk in 20 BBY. The war raged on for a year, centered around Kachiro. In 19 BBY, he returned with reenforcements for the final battle.

I'd appreciate any input anyone else has about this. It seems to be a serious anachronism. 75.67.142.56 02:50, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

  • According to Ryan Kaufman the in-game date (785 days ABG) had always been wrong. Four years ago he wrote on the Jedi Council forums:

Don't blame Leland, blame me. A previous writer had come up with "785 Days" as a random number, and when I was editing the crawls, I *totally* spaced on the days/months/ROTS timeline. You do NOT have to ret-con "785." It is simply a screw-up. The Kashyyyk mission is intended to take place only days before the Separatist invasion of Kashyyyk. My apologies to everyone who stayed up nights worrying about this.(exact post is in the bottom of this page). --Darth Paulus JaingHead (May the Force serve you well!) 09:08, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Merger with the Battle of Kashyyyk (Clone Wars)

I don't really think a merger with the Battle of Kashyyyk (Clone Wars) is necessary, because the Raid on the Core Ship, another Republic Commando mission that takes place during a previously established battle, isn't merged with the First Battle of Geonosis, though it is mentioned in the article.
