Shouldn't the "council" be capitalized? Kuralyov 17:07, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)

It should be. - TopAce, 19:15, 29 Jul 2005 (GMT +1h)

  • IIRC, No, no, no; it should not be. "Master's council" is how it it is given in the books; the reason being it is informal.JustinGann

And isn't this just a revised form of the High Council established in Destiny's Way? Joiner King never gives this congress an official name, so I suggest we just use High Council for now - Kwenn

  • I haven't read the later NJO books yet, nor TJK, but from what I gather this is a Jedi-only body, while the High Council is a Galactic Alliance one. --SparqMan 21:06, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
    • The Unseen Queen refers to this Council as the 'Advisory Council', though since we already have a number of Advisory Councils (New Republic, Naboo etc) I guess it ought to be called the Galactic Alliance Advisory Council (since it seems to incorporate both Jedi and GFFA reps, as did the High Council) - Kwenn
      • The High Council (aka Advisory Concil) is the combine 6 Jedi/6 nonJedi group, est late in YV War, which was more a "liaison body" for Jedi to coordinate war strategy with the government more than anything else. By time of Dark Nest War, the Jedi Masters (all of them) met in loose assemblies as the informal "Master's council," but like the USA federal govt under the Articles of Confederation, could give lots of advice but had little real power. The Dark Nest War convinces Luke stricted control is needed. By the Corellian-GA War, Luke has finally established a true new Jedi High Council of 12 members, led by himself as Grand Master, with a strict control over all Jedi. So there are three steps in the evolution here. It should be noted there is considerable overlap in membership.JustinGann 12:50, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Suggested Merging with Jedi High Council

This page should be merged with the Jedi High Council, since in Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines, they are referred to as the High Council and not the Masters' Council. RushinSundaws 19:25, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

  • It shouldn't be merged, since it's a completely different organization to the High Council of the old order. It should likely be renamed, however; perhaps to New Jedi High Council? - Kwenn 18:20, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Is the Masters' council actually called Jedi High Council in a book or something? -Fnlayson 05:19, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Numbers

  • Is this council formed of all of the Jedi Masters or a select few? If it is the latter, how many are allowed on the council at one time? Xeran 18:00, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Mara?

It seems that Mara is no longer on the council during Bloodlines. She's now the secretary. It appears that there were 13 Masters in the room. "Luke could feel - and see - eleven pairs of eyes turning to Mara." (pg. 228)--Etapelba 03:42, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Mara was never on the formal Jedi High Council in the Legacy era. She was part of the informal Master's Council during the Swarm War, but it seems ALL Masters were. The Corellian-GA War era Council is a more selecte group, so she was't kicked off, simply never elected.

Merge, Rename, or New Article

In Bloodlines it is once again refered to as the High Council. I think it should be either renamed or have a new article created refering to it as the New Jedi High Council. Or it could also be merged with the old Council page. Your thoughts please.

  • It needs to be renamed. The Jedi High Council (Legacy Era) page has been created, though that needs to be merged with this article. This one should be moved to Jedi High Council (Legacy era) - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 19:34, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Two Separate Articles

There should be two separate articles, since the Dark Nest-era Masters' Council was a large, loose assembly with limited authority, traditionally looking to their founder for leadership, while the High Council is a very formal body with a defined number of members and more absolute jurisdiction, firmly guided by the Grand Master.JustinGann 12:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Number in Legacy Council

Acc to Bloddlines, Etapelba points out, there are 12 Councillors plus the Secretary (Mara); but Exile shows only a total of 6 Masters meeting in the Council (including Mara). Did the Council shrink, or were some members just not in attendance? and Lobi may not be replaced yet. 6 in Exile: Luke, Mara, Corran, Kyle, Cilghal, and Kyp. Whether or not Mara is still simply a Secretary is not specified. We know Lobi was part of the Council, and Mara may have filled in her place?JustinGann 12:43, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Mara was counted as one of the 12; her and Lobi's successors haven't be named. The rest may've been on missions.

Successors?

Ok, so we know that there were 12 Memebers (including Mara). Were Mara and Tresani Lobi's successors named at any point yet? Unsigned comment by 70.131.249.63 (talk • contribs)

  • No mention of who their replacements were yet. Grunny (Talk) 23:54, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
    • The jedi Barratk'l is one and Jaina is now on the Council, but she replaced Kenth Hamner so that laves one spot unaccounted for. User:AH2000 23:11 April 9, 2012 (UTC)
