Born in 22 BBY?

I may have misread, but doesn't chapter 11 of the novel state that her father conquered Vardos for the Empire before she was born? If that's the case, she can't be born in 22 BBY. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 18:17, August 8, 2017 (UTC)

  • It does say that. It doesn't line up with this tweet from EA which is where the 22 BBY date originally came from, but I think the book takes precedence here so I'll remove it --Lewisr (talk) 18:41, August 8, 2017 (UTC)
    • This really needs to be addressed to resolve the current editing going on, are we going to disregard what the EA tweet says as it clearly doesn't line up with what Battlefront II: Inferno Squad says? Or are we going to put what the novel says down as a mistake? If we do option 1 it'll mean we take off the dates for Del Meeko and Gideon Hask too --Lewisr (talk) 19:49, November 11, 2017 (UTC)

The tweet is regarding Iden's age at the time of the Battle of Endor. 4ABY. Which adds up to 22BBY Birth date (Also, if I've edited anything wrong or seemed rude I apologise. Unsigned comment by DoucheLaGargen (talk • contribs)

  • No its okay you wasn't rude, thanks for replying, lets hope it can be resolved --Lewisr (talk) 20:06, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
    • I think this is only a question if we treat a game publisher's marketing department (which is what that Twitter account is) as a key source of canonical information. These tweets are not going through Lucasfilm Story Group vetting. It's marketing for a game, not a story. If a story says she was born after the Empire came to power, go with that until a story (or people responsible for maintaining a story) tell you otherwise. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:43, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
      • That's what I thought would be the thing we go with, thanks for further clarifying Brandon! --Lewisr (talk) 21:49, November 11, 2017 (UTC)

It has likely been through Story Vetting though. And all three of the ages displayed in that tweet add up with the the ages in the Battlefront II book which is Story Group vetted. The specific tweet may not be vetted but the info is correct when compared with other confirmed canon sources --DoucheLaGargen (talk)DoucheLaGargen

  • It doesn't really add up though, the tweet says Iden is 26 at the time of Endor being born in 22 BBY, but the book says she was born after Vardos was brought into the Empire which at the earliest is 19 BBY --Lewisr (talk) 23:43, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
    • The Story Group vets stories. They do not vet every piece of promotional material that comes out. That's a common misunderstanding about the Story Group's scope. That being said, if the book has the ages in line with what the tweet says, how does the book also say that Iden was born after the Empire conquered her homeworld? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:43, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
      • I'm just using quotes from the book so you can understand what's exactly being said. 'Garrick Versio himself had been the one to bring the planet into the Empire when he had been a young man.' 'The trees had survived, amusingly enough, because of her father, who praised them as a symbol of the planet's devotion to the Empire. Displaying the trees had become a popular pastime for those wanting to stay on the Empire's good side—which was anyone and everyone among the planet's nonhuman populace who had the room to plant them. This had happened before Iden's birth, but she had watched the holos of his speech—the one that had gotten a red stone statue of him erected—often enough to remember almost all of it.' --Lewisr (talk) 23:53, November 11, 2017 (UTC)

I see now how that can confuse things, but i do think that if anything is wrong, its the quotes about the trees. Iden being 22 at the time of the book adds up with her "Being too young" but not too young to be a competent special forces trooper. As well there is Gideon saying she's five years younger than him Also, this is much more of a speculation, but Garrick could have been a member of the people who knew the Empire plans and took over Vardos prior. (Obviously thats a stretch) but i do believe that if anything has to be passed off as wrong, its the quote regarding Vardos's imperial occupation after Iden's birth as there is the Gideon quote and though not vetted, the tweet adds up with the ages of Gideon and Iden (If the 5 years younger quote is to be the proper one) DoucheLaGargen (talk)

Actually married to Del?

Yes, they went on and had a daughter together, but what source actually states that the two of them are married? ShatterClub|Talk to me, internet 07:38, November 24, 2017 (UTC)

Infobox Picture- Young or Old?

Is there some policy about what age the infobox should depict characters at? I personally think it would be better if the box showed Iden in her prime instead of later in her life.--Jogarz (talk) 01:17, December 29, 2017 (UTC)

  • We use the image from latest appearance, meaning were she looks the oldest, like Luke, Obi-Wan, Leia, Han, etc.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 01:28, December 29, 2017 (UTC)
    • I was unaware. Doesn't it make more sense for the character to be portrayed the way they are in most media concerning them? Can you link the source for this policy? Thanks in advance.--Jogarz (talk) 01:30, December 29, 2017 (UTC)
      • Not sure if there is a policy on it, but its standard on here to use the latest image of the character in the infobox, any attempts to change it to a younger one will get reverted even if you think its better to use a younger image --Lewisr (talk) 01:34, December 29, 2017 (UTC)
        • Yes it's always been practice here to use image from most chronological appearance, provided there is a good image.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 01:35, December 29, 2017 (UTC)
          • And there's significant difference in the character's appearance(Yes, I'm still salty about Maul)--D9328 (talk) 02:05, December 29, 2017 (UTC)d9328

What year was she born?--71.223.166.102 00:25, November 5, 2019 (UTC)

Affiliation to the Rebel Alliance?

Upon her defection, Princess Leia told Iden "Welcome to the New Republic". Does that mean she wasn't a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic? -- YakovChaimTzvi (talk) 17:58, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

  • The rebels were still in the process of building the New Republic at that point, its one of the reasons Leia went to Naboo originally in Shattered Empire which overlaps in the game. So I'd say having Alliance to Restore the Republic, even briefly, is accurate Lewisr (talk) 18:05, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
