First Sith
Just out of sheer "academic" interest, is there a place I could find the official source where the first Sith/Dark Jedi is mentioned? I remember I was talking to one of the more frequent editors a few weeks ago about creating an article about the first dark lord of the Sith (as we do have enough information for one). - In canon? I don't believe there are any sources that talk about the first Sith. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:27, January 19, 2016 (UTC)
- "This unity fractured, however, during the period of time known as the Hundred-Year Darkness, when a rogue Jedi came to believe that the true power of the Force lay not through contemplation and passivity, and that only by tapping its dark side could its true potential be gained. The Jedi High Council at the time balked at this new direction and the Dark Jedi was outcast, but he eventually gained followers to his new order, which resulted in the formation of the Sith."
I found the sources just find (although the link to the databank was obsolete), but it appears that he was mentioned in the databank as well as this canon comic. I started writing a very brief article that I may want to run by someone, but I use only sources that were found on this specific page, as well as on the "Sith" page, although I do not know what would be an appropriate name. "Rogue Jedi" maybe? Darth Ravigious (talk) 01:45, January 19, 2016 (UTC)
/* Sith Age? */
On which page or Chapter of Tarkin is it mentioned that the Sith were formed about 6,000 years before the Clone Wars? —Unsigned comment by Wabble33 (talk • contribs)
- When it talks about the Sith shrine being built. The Shrine was built 5,000 years ago during the canon Great Hyperspace War after the Sith captured Coruscant. The Sith were stated to have been around for at least 1000 years before that. Darth Ravigious (talk) 02:55, December 24, 2017 (UTC)
Judging by the context and similar length of time, and the fact that said 1,000 years was clearly after the shrine's creation, I'd argue that was almost certainly referring to the era of Bane's Sith.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_war_(Old_Republic) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_of_Coruscant_(Sith_war) These articles show that the shrine was in fact constructed about 5,000 years before Tarkin, which lines up with Palpatine's statement.
In fact, this chapter of the book never even says that was the year or approximate year the Sith were founded. So more accurately,the Sith were created at least 5,000 years before the Clone Wars, or at least 5,100 if you add the HYD. Could be more, but from this we kow it was >5014 BBY but not (necessarily) ~6014 BBY.
