Hazard trooper a droid?

I think they are because it seems like the armor is only Tied on a Metallic Skeleton...

I only Belive it is by looking at the Interiors of their arms. like maybe the Dark Trooper being its Predessor? Or it being a Differant Model of Dark Trooper *Predessesor of SD-9 and 10?

They are definitely not droids. You can use Force Grip on them. It wouldn't work with droids. And they cry like humans if hurt.--TeakHoken84.173.29.254 23:26, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Really? How can you choke somebody who has no lungs? Well, I forgot to say that their health is reduced if you use Force Grip on them. OK, the cry is no proof for being no droid - we heard R2D2 crying enough. Oh I don't know. I will play this game again in the next time. Maybe I find out more. The use of Force Persuation would be a good prove for not being a Droid, I think. Or hearing them talk about something, droids wouldn't talk about.--TeakHoken84.173.21.222 11:46, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, I don't think they are droids either, but Force grip is lifting them off the ground in addition to choking them. And droids can talk about things... After all, Han and Leia couldn't get C-3PO to shut up. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 13:02, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, sure. I didn't say that droids don't talk, or did I? What I said was that droids wouldn't talk about some topics. For example: food, girls or training. Just wait. I will soon play the special level and try out some force powers on them.--TeakHoken84.173.17.126 10:08, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes. And water is not inflammable, right? But back to topic. I played Jedi Academy again, an this is what I've found out:

1) Force Powers. I was wrong. Force Grip has no effect on them. Force Grip is described in-game as working on "living persons only". But this mustn't mean that they aren't living persons, as you can use Force Lightning very well on them. Force Lightning is also described as to work on "living persons only". Force Persuation distracts them / makes them your ally, depending on your skill level. Force Persuation is described in-game like this: "Area of effects: Humanoids". Do I need to say more?

2) Limbing. You can cut their arms off the body with your lightsaber. there is no burned flesh on the cut surface. It looks like the arms are completely mechanical. I think thats what the guy meant who started this discussion. But I have to say that this means nothing. If you limb stormtroopers, there is no burned flesh, too. It is a simple game mechanic that seperates parts of the model from others.

3) Death. They don't explode. There are no electrical flashs or anything.

4) Speech. Their voice sounds like spoken through a walkie-talkie, just like stormtrooper voices. When hurt or dying, they cry. They can be heard saying sentences like: "Stop! Identify yourself!", "You don't belong here", and things like that. Nothing that a battle droid would not say. I didn't find Hazard Troopers holding idle talk with each other.

5) In-Universe-Assumption. When first encountering them, Kyle Katarn says: "What's that?... Must be some kind of trooper, designed for nasty environments like this." Maybe he is right, maybe he is wrong. He never corrects himself.

6) Appearance. They are between 2 and 3 meters high. Much too big to be an armor for a normally shaped human. But the torso is big enough for a squatting human or a member of a small alien species, Ewoks for example.

Summary: The only prove for them being living beings is that you can persuade them with the Force. A the same time, this clearly makes it impossible that Hazard Troopers are droids. Three possibilities are left:

A) Humans or aliens inside an exo-skeleton, similar to a Dark Trooper Phase III Armor.

B) Mutilated Humans or aliens inside a half droid / half exo-skeleton body.

C) Brains in a droid body.

The last one would expain why you can't use Force Grip on them.--TeakHoken84.173.17.126 17:34, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

  • The Force Lighting is just a Game Mechanic as you can Electrecute Basiclly anything

Also I do not remember IG-88B ,C or D exploding on Contact When ever I limb a Stormtrooper I saw Burnt Flesh every time. But this would require confirmation from Raven or Lucasarts.# 24.215.174.33

No I mean for it to State that it Only Works on Humanoids is a error. # 24.215.174.33

I think when Choosing Lightning as a force power it states that I belive.

If you press 'tab' (in-game) you are in a menu where you get information about your weapons, equipment and abilities. There it is, where it is stated that Force Lightning works on "living persons only" and Force Persuation has "Area of effects: Humanoids". Even if Force Lightning does work with everything, Hazard Troopers must have a Humanoid brain, as you can "force persuade" them. And I think it is very logical and not a game mechanic, that Force Persuation can not be used on droids. # 24.215.174.33, please tell me in which game did you kill IG88B, C, and D?--TeakHoken84.172.163.8 21:24, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

No offense, but to me it seemed that all of you had no clue. Is everything clear now?--TeakHoken84.172.199.59 15:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

OK guys. I think we can forget the info from in-game Tab-menu, because almost any info in it is wrong. Most of all the info about acrobatics, lighsaber actions and force powers. But i found out that you can also use Force Drain on them. So they have to be biological.--TeakHoken91.7.44.123 18:40, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Are there any sources for the claim that limbs of hazard troopers were amputated to use this armor? Vade Parvis (talk) 10:37, September 12, 2013 (UTC)
