So Bollux appears in Han Solo at Stars' End? Unfortunate. —Unsigned comment by 194.81.33.25 (talk • contribs)
Then I'll see you in Hall!
The word "Hall" appears without explanation after Han Solo's name in the Appearances section. Anyone know what's up with that? Asithol (talk) 23:47, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
Wars not make one great.
I'd like to achieve consensus regarding a recent mini edit war on this page.
The articles for books two and three in this trilogy point to the page "The Han Solo Adventures" as the overall series. I attempted to both bring this page in line with that practice, and eliminate some redlinks. Another editor disagrees, saying that that page is only for a specific compendium of the trilogy, and not for the trilogy as a concept.
This assertion is debatable, given that the lead sentence of the page The Han Solo Adventures is "The Han Solo Adventures, written by Brian Daley, are a loosely connected trilogy...," and the Del Rey compendium is not mentioned until the second paragraph. Nonetheless, even if one accepts that the trilogy as a concept warrants a new page, until such a page is created, it seems to me that readers are far better served with links pointing to the existing page rather than pointing to a nonexistent one. (There is also precedent for this in how the page for the DVD Star Wars: Ewok Adventures serves on some pages as a convenient link to the set of both live-action Ewok movies, since no separate page exists for that duology as a concept.) What do you think? Asithol (talk) 08:40, September 27, 2018 (UTC)
- This one's tricky. The three Daley novels were not originally labeled as a trilogy, hence there shouldn't technically exist an article for the trilogy as a concept. However, ever since the moniker "The Han Solo Adventures" appeared in the TPB release, that name has stuck, and it is widely accepted as a name for those three books, even without referring to the actual TPB collection. My neutral solution to this debate is to make The Han So&lo Adventures a redirect page, similar to what we have done in the past with another unofficial trilogy, the Callista trilogy. Meanwhile, the TPB page should be moved to The Han Solo Adventures (TPB), with a link pointing to it at the redirect page. QuiGonJinn

- The Essential Reader's Companion and publisher Penguin Random House (Del Rey's parent company) each refer to The Han Solo Adventures as a trilogy. ERC also correctly distinguishes the trilogy and The Han Solo Adventures omnibus as the separate entities that they are. There's nothing wrong with having separate articles for a novel series and a novel compendium, as they cover different things. This practice has already been started with Star Wars Trilogy, for example, I've continued it with The Han Solo Trilogy (see series and compendium), and will continue as I move through different series. Asithol seems perplexed by the fact that a redlink existed for the Adventures series and that the Adventures compendium article's first sentence was more about the series than the individual publication, as if articles can't be created and article text is set in stone. Well, both have now been rectified. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 16:01, September 27, 2018 (UTC)
- While I am often perplexed by simple things, in this case I felt that, until a separate trilogy article was created, a link to a page with pertinent information served our readers better than a link to one that didn't exist. I do remain perplexed that an experienced editor would feel a redlink served readers better. But as both pages now exist, the issue is resolved. Thanks for everyone's input.
