Death
The InfoBox on the page states Greer was killed on Pantora, citing episode 6 of The Bad Batch Season 3. However, this contradicts the text on the page itself, which never states he was killed. It used to, but that was changed to say that he was choked unconscious, with citation to the audio description of said episode. The episode does not show that he is dead, and the edits to the main text section of the page appear to agree with this. So then, why has attempts to remove the (falsely cited) date of his death been removed THREE times, without any explanation or elaboration, despite all three edits having laid these facts out? That conduct of comment-less reverting comes across as incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful towards fellow editors. Either the main text should too state that he died, or the InfoBox should not. --WOLKsite (talk) 21:09, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Given the ambiguous nature of Greer's fate, I have changed both the infobox and the body to both state that Greer is not dead. It is very possible that Greer did die, but to state this with certainty at this point is speculation. Wok142 (talk) 17:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- Noting for the record that I have protected the page from editing in the meantime to leave room for discussion here and prevent further edit-warring. OOM 224 (he/him) 17:31, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Rex says "He's gone" about Greer in the beginning of the episode. Why does wookiepedia says he didn't die on that page? Isn't that enough to confirm his death? Or should I have just go into editwar to lock the page with my version on it like User:WOLKsite did? Locking the page with his (wrong) version is the opposite of "dispute resolution", especially when your messages are getting deleted on the talk pages where we should have "a proper discussion" without being allowed to speak—Unsigned comment by 162.210.194.2 (talk • contribs)
- I don't appreciate the wikilawyering. OOM 224 (he/him) 17:43, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if that came out rude. But I'm just trying to get an answer for one question: Why the page is locked after User:WOLKsite removed the death info? I'm giving an exact quote from the episode, but the user in question removes it without checking the episode as he admits removing it becase of the "contradiction in the text on the page itself" (see the first message on this page).
- I requested the page be temporarily protected due to the unproductive edit-warring. I was also the one who removed the death from the infobox because it is not certain that Greer perished and asserting that he certainly did is, in my opinion, speculation. Could you provide a timestamp for when the "he's gone" statement is in the episode so I can further investigate? Wok142 (talk) 19:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- I protected the page in this state because it is better/less wrong to potentially omit factually correct information than to state potentially factually incorrect information. OOM 224 (he/him) 20:13, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
- I apologize for starting an edit war, that was not my intent. Rewatched the opening segments of the episode, and I haven't managed to find the line referred to either. It does make sense for Greer to be dead (the grenade could have killed him, and he didn't return to the base), but I maintain there is no confirmation. WOLKsite (talk) 17:41, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
