Mando Krayt

As far as I'm aware, the Krayt in Mando isn't identified explicitly as a Greater Krayt, right? Just a large specimen of one? Superficially, it just looks like a large Canyon Krayt with obscured legs. Should the info be put into the Canyon until some sources confirms or denies? 65.110.9.135 04:54, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

This is true, though perhaps it's something that is shared across both Krayts now? Because we do have source on what a Greater would look like in Canon thanks to that Force sculpture pic and this one don't particularly look like that one at all. 65.110.9.135 08:39, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

  • Yeah but that from a gameshow and even then that was more of a statue.Ghidorafour (talk) 08:56, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

I don't quite follow, what is the gameshow in question? Is it something related to that Force sculpture? Because, if so, even in sculpture form, it's a pretty good confirmation on that Greater Krayts look the same as they do in Legends (after all the sculptures tend to reflect real life); unless that picture too is a conjecture made by someone assuming the creature in question that happens to look like Greater Krayt in Legends' field guide translates to canon without explicit identification. Additionally, it is kind of established that Great Krayts are the dinosaur bones in ANH (and additionally, Battlefront, it seems), so the only way that would fit with the Mando's depiction is if the legs aren't obscured at all and the bones aren't just neck bones but also vertebrae and Krayts are actually sandworms. (Sorry if this sounds quite forward, I'm not familiar with the source material that the Force Sculpture came from or its context, I just think that the visuals of the Krayt are way closer to the canyon subspecies) 65.110.9.135 22:04, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

  • 1) the image you are so defending comes from a gameshow called 'Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge', the design could be artistic license as was the case with the gorax first canon depction in 'Star Wars: Galactic atlas. 2) we never saw it full body, just the head part of the neck so you can't really argue if that the case or not. so unless a star wars official says otherwise. The Mando Krayt Dragon, it IS a GREATER Krayt Dragon.Ghidorafour (talk) 00:47, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Ah I see, so it's ambiguous on the first point. Fair enough. As for the second point, I dunno if it's failed judgement part of the people present, but when they blew up the explosives in an attempt to reach the "weak spot" on the stomach, the detonation occurred not far behind the head. Which indicates a shorter neck. Again this could be a misjudge of size. And for sure, we are just grasping on air until official source says something and are just speculating but I can't wholly agree that the headshape is closer to greater over the canyon. I guess I'll leave it to the discretion of whoever deals with this aspect of the Mando project. 65.110.9.135 01:52, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
